Advantages: Big choice
Disadvantages: Poor returns policy
Should you buy any peripherals from PC World you need to be aware of their returns policy, should anything go wrong. I bought a HP cd rewriter from them about 6 weeks ago, in the 3rd week it started to make a crunching noise when disks were loaded up. Took it back today as the problem had started to get more regular, their terms are a bit different from what I'm used to. This is what the assistant told me:- They only give a refund if the fault develops within the first 7 days. An exchange is only offered in the first 28 days She said I could take another HP but I wasn't happy with that due to the fault. They agreed to me getting a different brand. Finally got a Traxdata, paid the extra £10 only after a bit of an argument regarding some discounted disks offered as a combined price with the HP. They also got the price of the Traxdata wrong on the shelf, tried to charge £50 more but they soon reduced it. As with a lot of stores they try not to give the customer their rights under the Sale of Goods act, they try and impose their conditions. Stand your ground and they will bend though.
