My opinion of PC World is not entirely negative but I do find the staff are quite hopeless! We went to purchase a PC last weekend after a lot of shopping around, PC World seemed to be the cheapest option. As an intermediate computer user I had a very specific idea of what we wanted in a PC. After a good look round we found one that we were happy with and went to find a member of staff to finalise the sale. When we eventually found someone we were told that this PC was out of stock. So off we went again to find something similar. The second PC we decided upon was also out of stock so I asked another assistant if there was anything similar spec and price. Well, this was obviously a difficult question as after quite a pause, he simply said (in a patronising manner) "what do you actually want a PC for?" I told him this was irrelevant and that this was the machine I wanted, but no, it was definately out of stock and there was nothing else similar. After some consideration we opted for a much higher spec (and priced) machine than we originally intended but i did feel it was a good deal. I do feel the staff have a very limited knowledge not only of computers, but also of retail skills. When I asked about the upgradability of the machine one member of staff looked puzzled and said "I can't see what you would want to add as it has everything on it"!!! And the sale itself took an awfully long time to sort out, we must have spent about two hours in the shop in total. In there advertising they encourage complete novices to come and 'trust them' to find the PC they want but I personally think, that a complete novice could quite easily end up with something totally useless.

Summary:
