Advantages: Good software range

Disadvantages: Disgraceful prices, In bed with a couple of big manufacturers so push there goods instead of far better other options, pitiful range of hardware

I will be straight to the point about PCWorld. I cant say that I am there greatest fan. There customer service is apalling. There product range is very dissapointing particularly the hardware. There prices are absolutely astronomical. The only advantage over buying mail order is that you can have the product there and then as opposed to having to wait a couple of days for a mail order, order to come through. It is only people that are very impacient that shop at PC World who cant wait a day or two to wait for a mail order order to come through but believe me it is definitely worth it. Depending on the product you can save yourself 30 or 40 quid by not going to PC World and you'll probably save yourself 20 quid by going to a local shop where you'll also get much more personal service too. The only good thing PC World have is a good software range but you'll pay 5 quid on top of what youd pay at your local Game or Electronics Boutique etc... store. There computer systems are a joke as well offering tunneled vision and ramming Intel chips down your throat instead of the cheaper and better value and performance Cyrix and AMD chips. Trust me, go to your local store if you need a purchase immediately or better still buy mail order if you can wait a day or two.
