Perfectly Crass World Bought a new wireless printer with 'easy installation disc' and though it initially got a far as a test page the whole installation corrupted my computer software. PC WORLD STORES PC world are the retail arm of DSG International group. They specialise in computing items but also sell, TVs, digital cameras, stationary and even office furniture. Just to warn anyone you really should avoid PC World PC Performance agreements. I have had to send my laptop away for repair for the 3rd time within 6 months and it is currently still in their workshop. It has been with them for 4 weeks now and they have rang every Thursday for the last 3 weeks to tell me they are still waiting on a part. The ... Read the complete review

I purchased a desk top computer from PC world 1 year ago and have to say after sales service is total crap. When purchasing the computer i took out a PC performance agreement for peace of mind, which also is total crap. A few weeks ago our laptop screen mysteriously broke (I'm blaming the cat) so after a call to my insurer a giftcard was on its way, fingers crossed it's not PC World vouchers they're sending however I was crushed to find the plastic rectangle of doom concealed within an envelope last tuesday. So after work we go down to PC work and make ... Read the complete review

I went in PC world and said (because I wanted a professional opinion) "my RAM doesn't work at stock speed and they tell me "the BIOS should auto detect and set everything up automatically". Uhummm I don't *u*ki*g think so! What a bunch of monkeys. So I go to forum and they confirm that a lot bios tweaks need to be made and they also say that the auto setting are wrong a lot of the time. The bottom line - PC World are a bunch of muppets and they don't know *uck all. Hey PC world, if you're listening, NOT EVERYTHING IS MONKEY PROOF YOU MUPPETS! Do some research and hire some decent staff!

PC World, for those of you who don't know, is one of britains largest chains of computer stores. It first opened in 1991 in Croydon and there are now over 160 stores across the UK and ROI. The first thing that really annoyed me about going to PC World was that I didn't know where it was so wanted to ring them from my car to get directions. Nightmare! It's one of these automated, centralised services and the directions were only any good if you knew the places it said it was near to. In the end I found it by asking in another shop in ... I bought my first computer from pc world around 8 years ago and never experienced any problems with the machine, it worked well did everything it should do and I took it in once a year to PC World to get a free annual health check that I received letters through the post to remind me of as I had purchased the insurances. Hi. This is my first review and it comes as a response to reading other reviews about PC World. I am like a number of others an employee at this company and can't believe the generalization us customer advisors are stuck with. I see we are being labelled as having no knowledge on computers or anything to do with them. This is untrue 75% of the ... Read the complete review

Customer service for PC World is awful - I bought a laptop that developed a fault after 6 weeks, the tech guys had me doing system restores and a system recovery before admitting defeat and it was picked up by courier. They still have laptop 18 days later and i am the one that has had to chase it up. Some days i am told the part needed to fix laptop is in stock and other days i am told it is not !!! Will never buy from PC World again and would definitely not recommend

PC World, is, not surprisingly, a shop that sells a wide range of electronics and computer equipment. I say wide, but they don't always have what I want, or what I sometimes expect they'll have, so it becomes a bit of a guessing game sometimes. PC Worlds are usually found in large stores in retail parks, which can make getting to them a ... Read the complete review

PC World is among one of my favourite places to visit, they have an extensive range of desk-top and Lap-top computers in stock. Obviously my computer knowledge is limited but that still doesn't stop me enjoying a good look around the store. My most recent visit to the large city store was to enquire about Mobile Broadband. If your thinking of buying anything from this company (PC / Laptop / Camera / Printer Scanner etc) then go somewhere else that can be trusted. I bought a laptop from PC world and was very happy with it. But then went back to buy a camera for my daughter and wanted cheap and chearful (she`s 9) I was advised on a camera and connection leads needed. The after sales advice saw me spend a further £100 pounds and I still can`t down load the pictures. Pc worlds attitude is I`ve already spent the money so not their problem although the manager admitted it was down to their bad advice and the staffs lack of knowledge of their own products. So when I bought my 2 daughters new laptops for xmas you can guess where I didn`t go for them.

The Leicester store - awful!
PC World 5 year warranty - even worse.
Annual health check - thank God they are not in the medical profession! Took them 50 hours to report that there was nothing wrong with my PC when it was virtually unusable. Total waste of time and money.
Customer services - so bad they are beyond description. Don't waste your time consulting them - you be better served by consulting the runes!
How on earth they stay in business I do not know.

I just had to post here. I am a Full Time employee with PC World in Edinburgh. From what I've seen, people are continuosly basing their experience on certain stores. The worst customer service ever. They were rude right from the beginning without trying to help and resolve the problem. I'm shocked how this company could still be running. I suggest to stay the hell away from PC world if you do not want any hassle. They better train people properly, or else karma will get back to them and will be out of business very soon. I'm absolutely disgusted by their rude verbal behaviour. They recruit cheap people just like their company. I would NEVER EVER buy anything from them!!
