I have had my Dell about 3 year and at the same time a friend, who knows little about computers spent about £200 more than my on an HP from the dreadful PCW. 3 years later mine is still going strong. It crashes a bit now and then, but I have loaded all sorts of games and ISP disks on and things do get cluttered. His is dead!!! No ... Read the complete review

Never enter this lair, it will suck you in and leave your pockets dry! The amount of complaints we have made against this company is absurd, it is actually from adverts in which they do all of their work- to deceive innocent future customers into buying from them at ridiculously high prices where all you get are faulty equipment. ... PC World is a shoddy store. It has good and bad qualities. First, we come to the good. PC World have branches all around the country. Most stores and very large and contain everything you could possibly want for your computer. Software, games, personal computers, laptops, palmtops, wap-enabled mobile phones, scanners, webcams, ... P.C. World computer warehouse sells everything you need to do computing. They sell full computer systems starting from £399 and up to the top of the range models. They also sell printers, scanners, ink-jet supplies and just everything to do with computers. The best thing about it is the software and games section, which takes up a large proportion ... This is one place to avoid if you're after buying any sort of computer hardware. I am a computer novice when it comes to hardware and went to PC World looking for a cheap machine, but I wanted one that would do what I asked it to do. They sold me A Patriot Cyrix MII 300Mhz machine. My needs weren't that great so I thought the machine would ... Read the complete review

Yes it should be called Pri C or Pricy world ,not PC world as the prices are just the same as RRPs - ok that's recommended - according to the Retail Price but there are never any, or hardly any savings in the store - you may well see the adverts but they say a false story - the games for PC are always £29.99 + (online they'd be £20), ... I have NEVER been to a place in which such a bunch of sorry ass ingrades work. I am absolutely disgusted by the policies of PC world and how they rip off their customers. Now as I am only 16, and got a bit of money for passing my GCSE's, I decided to treat myself and buy a CD writer. PC World seemed as good a place as any. WRONG! ... Read the complete review

I think you need to go in knowing what you want, without relying on the staff. They are just there to sell you the most expensive PC they can, and some of them just don't have a clue what they are talking about. I overheard someone the other week giving the customer wrong information. It's a good place to see whats available, then ... Read the complete review

PC World is a store that appeals to new computer users and very inexperienced computer users. It has the large, chain-store security about it that smaller (and better PC shops) lack. For someone who knew nothing about computers three years ago, I found the staff at PC World very useful when they were trying to sell me things and not so ... Read the complete review

This week my husband and I went into our local PC World shop looking to buy a new printer/scanner. We were pounced on almost immediately by a member of staff. We told him our requirements i.e. printer/scanner and were shown a Canon printer/scanner but were told that they didn't stock the actual scanner cartridge, we'd have to purchase that ... They have saved me money, and have given me great service. I bought my PC from PC World, I avoided going to them at first, but thought I would compare prices. I was happy that I was allowed to browse round the store without being interrupted with "Can I Help You". AS soon As I had seen a PC that I was interested in I approached the ... When ever I walk into a PC WORLD I always have trouble finding someone to help me, and when I do find someone, they rarely know anything about computers or the software they sell. I find their software is over priced and the shop a total waste of space. How anyone can buy from an outfit like this is beyond me. I would not recommend PC ... Read the complete review

Anyone with much experience of Dixons, PC World, Currys and the like, will know that they are all part of DMG Retail Group. You will probably also know that these stores have numerous similarities. For example, the staff all have little knowledge (or more often none at all) of the products they are trying to sell to you. Not only do they ... Read the complete review

Dooyoo probably needs another negative review of PC World like a hole in the head - but here's a very specific point for people who live so close to this retailer you can't resist popping in for that essential peripheral or accessory. PC World, just like Dixons and Currys, is the worst place to buy a computer if you are new and don't fully understand specifications and what is good or average. As an experienced computer user enquiring in PC World to buy a PC I had a guy who stalked me around the store asking if I needed help, I said I wanted a PC that had a CD-RW ... Where in the World? (can you pay to much?) PC World. When you thin of somewhere to buy your computer from, you automatically think of PC World. That is because they are one of the market leaders in PC and Peripheral Sales in the UK. They may be one of the leaders due to their famous name but they are definitely not the cheapest. My ... As an avid computer user I feel very strongly for the way that the computer industry works. I have never bought anything from PC World and definately don't intend to. My friend once made a purchase there and after about a week, it was downhill all the way. Tech support was poor, and trying to phone one of their many pricey hotlines was ... Read the complete review

A huge computer shop. Looking around this shop gives you some good ideas. If you have an Epsom printer get your ink from here. Dont buy Epsoms own brand ink but buy PC worlds own make. They are just as good as Epsoms and costs quite a lot less. In fact I cannot see any difference at all. For things like this PC World is good ... Read the complete review

I went to PC World retail house once, and I think that will be the last time although that was the first time. It is located far from the city center of Southampton. Why I hate PC World? It is such a shame that a store with such potential comes nowhere near good. It is apparent to me that their only intention is to say whatever is needed to make a sale. Be it truth, near truth or a complete lie. I would advice that nobody makes a purchase in their store after taking advice from one of the SALES staff. If you ... Read the complete review
