About 4 weeks ago I wanted to buy a new laptop. PC World had a lot of offers, so I thought I would try them first. Inside the shop, a trainee assistant kept following me around asking "could he help?" I declined his offer (several times). After browsing through the display I selected the laptop I wanted. The sales man reappeared ... Read the complete review

I bought a lap top from PC world in Bristol in May; so far it has completely crashed twice, losing all my work and personal stuff. It has so far cost me over £60 in calls to their help line! I have been told lie after lie, been put on hold and had the phone put down on me by their so called Tech Guys help line. I ... Read the complete review

PC World offers a wide range of computing devices and accessories. I, personally enjoy browsing the wide range of laptops there, including the small Asus laptops and the big ones. :) The shop presents itself well, with magic opening doors (I don't know how they do it but its so amazing), and the aisles are neat and you can usually find ... When PC World first started they were the first in the market to combine computer products and the warehouse concept together on the high street. The market has moved on now and PC World have recently bought their major competitors - Byte. PC World are now probably the only PC retailer which has PC's, equipment, games, and peripherals all together ... Read the complete review

**MY EXPERIENCE OF PC WORLD IN STOCKPORT** Pc world has many stores worldwide so you would expect them to be a professionally organised business, sadly, in my experience this is not the case. I visited my local store as I was searching for extra memory for my kids desk top, (and also to browse the selection of laptops they had on ... Read the complete review

Ordered an eeepc then realized it was cheaper at Dixons. Cancelled order 30 minutes after making it (by email, unique among online retailers PC World hasn't managed a cancel order button yet). They don't deliver it but can't cancel it and take the money meaning I have to take it to the store for a refund. Crap.

Complete and utter incompetence. Stay away at all cost! First of all, they refused to accept my foreign credit card for my order - then withdrew the money anyway. They held that money up for 5 days! After complaining I had no call back either. I was unable to give another card, so I had to reorder - I ordered on priority. The day before my ... Read the complete review

(Although this category is under computing, my review applies to the store experience. I have posted here under instruction from Dooyoo. My personal preference would be for a separate category.) It's incredible to think that high street retailer PC World started with one branch just 17 years ago. Today, the chain has over 160 stores in ... Read the complete review

A great way to spread the cost of buying stuff like laptops and servers. Why spend £800 on a laptop when it'll be worth £250 in 3 years time? The previous reviewer obviously declined the support service that PC World offer, I decided to give it a go. It was some small amount like £10 a month extra, and it meant if the laptop went wrong i got a new ... Read the complete review

I am currently a part time PCworld employee. I'm studying for my master's degree in Electronic and Software Engineering (3rd year). One thing i would like to mention is that no PC World staff receive commission. It's simply by the hour. I'm Writing here as i would like to give insight into both the workings of PCWorld and ... Ever since I started using the internet, most purchases for computer components have been online for the simple reason that the prices have tended to be much cheaper. Recently I decided to have a look around PC World to see what the current range of products and prices are like in comparison to online retailers such as Ebuyer. In ... Read the complete review

PC World, this shop is the worst shop you will ever go to, please ignore what they say, and stay away from their store! Their prices are ridiculous! You can get a PC that is 3 times as fast, from novatech, or other stores from the same price! I went in there once, and I asked them for a gaming PC, they took me to a AMD Athlon 64 ... Well, we were looking for some windows terminal server licenses for one of our clients. Naturally, all the normal outlets were pretty expensive so I dedecided to do a google search. Please do not buy from PC world. If you have a problem with an item like I did and it goes wrong after 28 days PC world will not give you a refund, even though this contavenes the sale of goods act.
