Second hand from PC World - Advantages: Cheap, Easy to obtain - Disadvantages: VERY poor after sales service. Two different departments within PC world gave different information. One said that the (29 day old) monitor would be replaced by a new one and the other department said that my only entitlement was to an old one, Monitor under warrenty replaced by second hand one, VERY misleading warrenty details

Thinking of going to PC World then? Well the only advantage to going is that they sell a wide range of products but if it’s help or advice you need then forget it. Yes you heard me, forget it. A flock of geese would probably give you more help than the help or should I say lack of help the customer service team members in that store give ... Read the complete review

On purchasing my first "proper" computer, a young lady with an attractive cleavage did a cracking selling job on me, persuading me to part with an additional £300 for a 5 year warranty! I suspect the cleavage clouded my judgement. Anyway, part of the deal was the opportunity to take my computer in to PC World once a year for an ... Read the complete review

Till two years ago I never really used a computer. But after seeing adverts for pc world I went to my local store to buy a pc. As I walked in the door I noticed how many staff members were on hand to help me. I had never been in a computer store before so didn't really know where to go! The store was warm and had a lovely purple carpet. ... Read the complete review

I agree with many of the opinions here but mostly of those who used to work for PC World. However, my advice is to do all your research first before you step inside PC World. Use the web to find exactly what you are looking for and make notes about prices. Read all the "small print" regarding terms and contitions of sale and especially ... Read the complete review

The PC extended warrinty is excellent in PRINCIPLE. But in pratice u would be better off dealing with BAFOONS R US. They made three attempts to repair my machine in my home. After each call by the engineer, there was something new broken on the machine. The idiot attempted to replace M/b with a lesser spec board and wondered ... Read the complete review

Where in the world? Not PC world! That is what I think the mot should be changed to, as it is more true then their own. Their little statemnet in the adverts on the TV constantly is 'we're stamping down on prices' but what do you know they're not. It's a con, take this as an example a Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad Pro, ... Read the complete review

As most people know, PC World are a national chain of computer stores, offering PC hardware, software and advice, together with repairs and upgrades. Overall, their stock isn't too bad, and they're fine to deal with on their special offer products. They're also fine if you know exactly what you want. However, their sales staff ... Opposite my college lies one of the largest PC world stores in Cornwall. On many occasions me and my friends have crossed over the busy dual carriage way to browse the store bargains....However on every time I have visited PC World I have been disgraced. PC World, that happy place where families go to buy everything they want to meet their computing needs - or so they`d like you to think. The reality of PC World is a computer superstore - they`ve got almost anything you could ever want, but that isn`t enough in itself. To start with the prices are on the extravagant side to say the least ... Read the complete review

Please see below a copy of an email I sent to PC World and Trading Standards Dear Sirs, I find myself in disbelief today having been treated very badly, twice on the same day by your organisation. Firstly I went to your store in Leeds (where I have made many purchases before) to buy a 60Gb IBM ATA100 HDD and 100 ... Read the complete review

Unfortunately for most of us PCWorld is the only local retailer with all computer needs under one roof. Whereas supermarkets have cut the cost of food etc by building these large outlets, PCWorld uses them as a high- profit, hard-sell operation. Try to get out of the shop after purchasing any hardware without being pressurised into buying their ... Read the complete review

PC World is probably the UK’s largest retail outlet for computer goods. They have a massive range of stock ranging from the simplest software up to some top of the range hardware but they also have many flaws that are inherent due to their business practice and ethics. Many people that know very little about computers regard PC ... Read the complete review

I've read a couple of the reviews from other people regarding PC World and can accept that opinions vary. Mine is exceptionally negative. Both from the employee and customer viewpoints. I worked in the Leeds store, just off J1 of the M621. Briefly, I was hired based on my knowledge of computers. It's the only field I've any ... Read the complete review
