PC World is probably the UK’s largest retail outlet for computer goods. They have a massive range of stock ranging from the simplest software up to some top of the range hardware but they also have many flaws that are inherent due to their business practice and ethics. Many people that know very little about computers regard PC ... Read the complete review

I've read a couple of the reviews from other people regarding PC World and can accept that opinions vary. Mine is exceptionally negative. Both from the employee and customer viewpoints. I worked in the Leeds store, just off J1 of the M621. Briefly, I was hired based on my knowledge of computers. It's the only field I've any ... Read the complete review

Advantages: Good prices, good service, no hard sell Disadvantages: None for me OK It’s official – I am impressed with the service at PC World! There I have said it! I admit that I did not expect to be impressed as I have read some awful reports about them but there it is – I am a satisfied ... Read the complete review

This comment refers to the Bath store, but in conversation with others I suspect it is a nationwide problem. Five consecutive trips to PC world in the last six weeks have proved utterly frustrating. First visit: a speculative trip to buy a laptop. There was a well specified Advent 6422 at £1199 on the shelf which I expressed an interest in. ... Read the complete review

When I was deciding on a PC to buy, the staff at PC World was friendly, helpful and proffesional. The offer of included in home help to repair any warranty faults sounded very useful. However, once things started to go wrong, PC World's service really began to show its true colours. My initial problem was that whenever I was ... Read the complete review

As many of you that read my opinions may have gathered by now, I dont have many bads things to say about technology but now its times like these when I see PC World with 218 opinions that I feel I have to add something of interest to a seemlessly endless debate. I have worked in Dixons and Currys through DSG (Dixons Stores Group) for nearly 2 ... Read the complete review

Right. Time for a rant. PC World is possibly the worst shop I’ve ever been into. It has almost no redeeming features whatsoever, and is plagued by badly trained, unfriendly, pushy staff. Their prices are also phenomenally high. Let’s start with what’s good about PC World. Some of the stores are very large, ... Read the complete review

PC world is to Pcs what Toys R Us is to...well toys. You know that despite its faults, whatever you need will most probably be in PC World. Organisation ************ The problem is that although you know what you are looking for is in there somewhere, its like looking for a particular black sock in a drawer full of black socks. ... I have to admit that I havn't had that many dealings with PC World of recent, but I could just imagine what the service is like. I purchased my first PC back in the early 90's and was a 486 SX25 (Wow!! a 25mhz processor). I purchased the PC through Dixons and thought that I was king of the world, until the day I realised that I ... Read the complete review

I would just like to warn others about buying a pc from PC WORLD. I bought a PACKARD BELL PC from them which hasn't worked properly from day one ! The staff have been extremely unhelpful and have tried to say the problems are of my own making, even tho the pc was brand new and nothing was installed that shouldnt have been. ... Well where can i start? P.C. world have to be the worst computer retailer i have ever come across in my life. I build computers myself in my spare time and I know alot about computers. Everyone else seems to be down on PC World... I have recently bought an HP desktop from PC World. I went in at Christmas and it was bedlam, so we had a look around, looked at a few things, no salesperson managed to find us wandering thru the store. All the people were doing my head in so we went across the road for lunch. On ... Read the complete review

Pcworld’s service is very good but I prefer to go to curry’s to be honest. Pcworld had a lot of things to choose from but hardly and of good quality. I can’t find any advantages about the shop at all. To me I would much rather buy a new one then shop there. My first time going to pcworld was hell, they wouldn’t ... Read the complete review

PC world is a surprise. 8 years ago I wondered to my self how a superstore, dedicated to only computers could survive in the industrial state battleground on the outskirts of town, apparently competing with the likes of Tescos, Asda, Comet, Curries, etc. The battle however has seen more specialised superstores take arms in the struggle to ... Huge range, prices are not extortionate and there's one near you (well, relatively speaking...). How about the customer service? How well I remember my first visit to PC World (Hounslow). I wanted to buy a computer (my very first one), and took a (male) friend along, because he was considering buying one as well. It took us a while to ... Read the complete review

The first time I stepped foot in a PC world I was very impressed by the range of software and PC's available and once I had walked round for awhile was again impressed by the range of accessories, such as scanners etc, all you would expect to find in the classic PC store. I have to totaly agree, PC World sucks!!! If you are looking to buy a Computer DON'T GO!!!! Why? I'll tell you why, and I mean no disrespect to anyone, It's full of people who think they know something we don't know and they milk it for all it's worth. OK, so PC World is pretty much the dominant computer retail outlet in the UK, and along with the Dixon stores it is fair to say that they make a bob or two out of us innocent shoppers. I agree that they should be cheaper, and that it would be nice to be served by someone other than a spotty adolecent with biro marks all over their hands, but it is ... Read the complete review

In my opinion PC World is a usefull source of computer hardware and software (if you don't mind queing that is). However, the advice of staff working at PC World is more of an opinion than a technical working knowledge. The staff rarely have an clue about what they are talking about, often using jargon to confuse the unwitting customer. ... Read the complete review
