Pico Consul Cracks Me Up! (PICO SYSTEMS)

Advantages: Good Value, Some good tech support staff Disadvantages: Some poor support staff, had lots of difficulty in getting thru on phone
I bought a Pico Consul over two years ago, it cost around £1,100. I have been incredibly pleased with the laptop for a ling time until recently (past 6 months). The laptop always worked really well, looked good (in its day!) and had a much better spec than similarly priced branded competitors laptops. However, just like the others that mentioned the Consul at dooyoo, I noticed the same crack at the back of the screen hinges. It is getting progressively worse and I noticed screen flickering which was getting really bad at times and then it would settle down to almost unnoticeable! All ok at the moment! So, I re-iterate, the computer was an excellent buy and I got almost 3 years full term hard labour from this computer. As regards functionality, it still is quite fast and loads up an MS Office application in 3-5 secs. The P4s in work aren't much better than that! However, the build quality seems to be in question, and I reckon that the screen flickering is related to the crack at the hinge. Perhaps the hinges just can't handle a few years of opening and closing the covers/screens. Summary: |
