Advantages: None
Disadvantages: 66% of the computers I bought were terrible!
I guess it takes a certain kind of “stupid” to make the same mistake twice; I admit it – that’s what I did! The Time adverts looked convincing, the prices looked good, and the specs were just what I wanted, so I picked up the phone and ordered a state-of-the-art computer from those nice people at Time. It all seemed to work, but then the CD ROM drive packed in. I telephoned, wrote, telephoned again and in the end gave up. Time were not interested in repairing this faulty machine, so I had it repaired at a local computer supplier. I sent the invoice to Time, hoping that they would reimburse me, but no way! I put this down to bad luck and bought another machine from them. Fortunately this had no problems. So.. I bought another Time Machine. It didn’t work. I sent it back. They kept it for a couple of weeks and sent it back to me. It didn’t work. I sent it back. I was a regular visitor at our local courier. That computer had travelled as far as H. G. Well’s time machine – and it didn’t get any better! As soon as the major motherboard and hard disk drive faults had been mended, the modem packed in! I still have three broken modems in a box somewhere – eventually I went out and bought a new one, vowing that I would never again buy anything from Time. Those nice people at Time are in the sales department – not in customer service. If I am ever stupid enough to buy another computer from Time, will someone please get the men in white coats to take me away for my own good? Thanks!

- 04/10/00 That's usually the case with the two departments. The sales depart have to be nice and the technical dept don't because you've already bought the product! Good opinion. |
