Advantages: Nice Logo

Disadvantages: Bad Sales Staff, Useless Technical Support, Cheap Components

I bought a AMD 450 about two years ago from Time as a package detail from one of their outlets in Staples. I was told by the salesman that with the particulat model I wanted I had to buy a entertainment pack with it for an extra £100. O.K I thought even though I only really wanted it for business purposes anything to just complete the transaction. I was then told it may take up to four weeks for it to be delivered. My previous machine an old Stak P120 finally gave up the ghost motherboard wise around the second week of waiting. I then had to revert to using my laptop which is ok but I personally cant use it for a long period of time. It took another five weeks (seven weeks total) until it arrived.

It was then preconfigured wrong, so I set about reinstalling Windows and the drivers only to find a hairline crack in my driver cd (one of the CD's for the ViaVoice software was missing anyway). So I looked on the Time Website and of course couldn't find the driver. I phoned Times so called Sales/Technical Support to ask for a new CD. I recieved the CD about three days later only to find that this CD had been damaged in the post. Anyway a week later I managed to get all the drivers reinstalled only to find the following :-

My PC came with a TV Card which worked for approximately a week before failing. My CD ROM drive wont play normal CD's for some reason (I tried changing the CD lead). I have to mpeg a CD before I can play it. Oh any I needed to record a presentation using a microphone. The microphone works ok through the card but for some reason I cannot record my voice using the soundcard drivers provided. Anyway at least the machine is fit for business purposes but I expected more for my £1500 outlay. I'm now looking aorund for a new PC but it wont be a Time Machine.
