HAve two kids I am always mixing or whisking up something and needed something small and convinient to just get out of the cupboard at a moments notice instead of setting up my big mixer. I found this 3 in 1 blender in Argos and thought that it looked like a good buy, although on the pricey side at £63.99.
The product came ... well packaged and consisited of the handheld mixer along with various attachments which included a large 800ml beaker, 500ml chopper and a balloon whisk. I thought that they powerful 800 watt motor (which has two speeds regular and turbo) would be powerful enough to cope with most things. It sadly seemed that I was wrong. It was a fairly weighty item and gave off the impression that it was of a good quality. Its easy to grip and felt very comfortable to use and it's not too loud when the motor is running.
I attempted to whisk some cake mixture and failed dismally. The whisk failed to barely move and ended up burring the inside of the mechanisum and was rendered pretty useless after several attempts. The main blender has a detachable head and coped very well with blending soups, making sauces, milkshakes etc. This particular attachment is said to be resistent to rust moreso than other products in a similar vein. The chopper has a safety locking lid and the bowl has handy little rubber feet to preventing it from slipping is good and I always used it for making homous and curry pastes although the chopper now fails to work.
Every attachment is quick and easy to pop on and off and all detachable parts are dishwasher safe. The blender may seem convinient and handy, which is why I purchased it in the first place. But it's not lasted me even a year, so I am pretty disappointed in the overall quality of this item. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone who needed to use a blender on a regular basis. I had had this product for a while and was getting on ok with it. The mixing bowl is tiny so could never make anything of significance but it did the job. I went to use it one day after having had it for about a year and it was dead. Changed the fuse nothing. Changed it again, still nothing. It had just died on me. Now, I have may have ... been unlucky so I'll review the other features
Design - small, compact, easy store, easy to use, looks good. Fits in the hand nicely and the interchangeable heads are bery easy to swap about. The unit sits comfortably in your hand and is easy to control. The main unit is actually quite heavy so you do need to have a good grip on it.
Value - I expected more for my money. The product has not lasted well and I therefore consider it to be very poor value. The fully ice when I purchased it was £50. For that amount I really did expect a lot more.
Usage - good while it lasted but the mixing bowl is small. You can only complete very small tasks in this and would stand no chance of mixing a cake or anything similar. The whisk attachment worked very well and you can obviously use at in a larger bowl if needed. Read the complete review |

I love using the Breville Mixer for mixing cake mixtures and for making quality pastry. Great for combining liquids, folding ingredients, preparing muffins and pastries, preparing cakes and pudding mixtures, creaming sugar and butter, preparing cookie dough, kneading dough with dough hooks, whipping cream or egg whites and mixing mashed ... potatoes!
I use my Breville Mixer for mixing mashed potatoes together and they turn out so much better and creamier than when mixing it with a fork! The cakes are certainly more lighter and fluffier when mixed! The bread turns out much more better when kneaded with the hooks!
I personally think it's a great kitchen tool for all sorts of uses. It has a speed control switch (0-5) which is useful for getting the right texture at the right speed, range of beaters designed for different foods like cake mixtures and doughs!
What made me buy this product?
The reason I purchased this product was because it's exactly the right size and weight. It's light to handle which is very handy when you're operating it. It's easy control with a speed control slider, beater eject button and an easy grip handle.
Where can I purchase this product?
I purchased this product from off the internet for a great price but you can buy them from all sorts of electrical appliance shops for good prices aswell!
This is a great product and is very useful for in the kitchen! Read the complete review |
