You may not be able to imagine me standing in the kitchen, mixer in hand, creating a deliciously moist sponge cake - but I can assure you that it does happen (ok - my cake-making only occurs once or twice a year, but that's not the point). The hand mixer in question is the 'Kenwood HM190' - a small and efficient device which can be purchased online for the very reasonable price of £12.
