Given the cost of an ipad it is certainly worth investing a few pounds to ensure that it is properly protected while it is in use and especially on the move and that is why I spent £35 on this leather folio from Belkin, I have also used a Belkin product to protect the touch screen and this case is there to protect the device from any bumps, it also serves to hide the fact that you have an ipad when it is in the closed position and you are carrying it around.
Made from nice soft bnlack leather it is a very classy design, it is also very secure as it has an elastic strap that secures it and when it is sealed closed the strap sits in an indented groove so that it sits flush to the leather meaning it is less likely to accidently snag.. The ipad itself nestles within a leather frame that runs around the outside and you do not loose any of the functionality of the ipad. The only slight issue I have found is when you want to do any typing on the screen when it is in portrait mode it is a little more fiddly as the edges get in the way making the whole thing a bit thicker and thus my fingers do not have the same range as it is a bit more bulky and awkward to handle, having said that you can always remove the jacket if you have a lot to type.
All of the ports are accessible at the bottom as well so the case does not have to be removed when you want to access these. The power button is accessible through the leather side as is the volume wheel which is covered with a thin plastic strip to allow access, while the headphone jack is open on the side.
I'm delighted with this product as it is good value for money compared with some of the more expensive covers on the market.
