My friend is a big fan of all Apple devices, however he never buys cases as well to protect his stuff. He travels a lot for business so the devices get quite a lot bumped in plane or taxis. Last month was his birthday and I decided to surprise him with a new case for his iPad. He does not like anything too extravagant, so I was looking for a simple but high quality case. There are tons of cheap cases on the market, however the lifetime would not be probably to great. Then I saw this Belkin Pleated Sleeve on Amazon for about £15. I personally like Belkin products and was always satisfied with them so I decided to give it a try and was hoping it will fulfill my friends expectations.
The case arrived in three days, which was very quick considering the seller stated it can take up to 10 days. The case has one big compartment for your iPad and a keyboard fits in together with the iPad as well. There is a small zip compartment as well to store for example your driving licence, passport or credit cards if you are just on a short journey. The padded case come in black and the design is very nice and stylish. It is made of neoprene and overall looks very solid and is a good protection for your device. The case is reasonably waterproof and protects the iPad from any accidental splashes.
My friend was very happy about this case and now he is taking it on all his travels.
I received an ipad from my wife for Christmas and I wanted to keep it pristine and undamaged so I set about finding a case to protect it. I wanted a cheap case that was a simple design, no frills. I wanted a padded case, preferably water resistant sot hat I could put it in by bag with all my other gear and it would not get harmed if it was inevitably bumped around a little bit. I looked online and eventually after viewing tens of cases I found this one which had a really nice, simple but sleek design. It was black and looked padded which was great.
I ordered it and it arrived a few days later. I paid around £15 for the case plus delivery, so it wasn't cheap. I like Belkin products and I have used them in the past. I trust their brand and I have always found their products to be of good quality, durable and long lasting. The case is a pleated design which looks really stylish but still understated which I like. It is made of neopreme and is reasonably water proof, you could splash water of it and it wouldn't get through. The material is stretchy and easily accomodates the ipad and a keyboard inside. It has a soft quilted lining which avoids scratches on the ipad and it is lightweight and durable with an easy to use zip. It comes with a lifetime warranty from Belkin and it is soap washable.
I stumbled across this sleeve when searching for an iPad case on Amazon and decided to buy it given its popularity. Since then it has served its purpose perfectly. It's a snip for £10 and, while I haven't dropped my iPad yet, I'm confident it would protect the screen if I did.
It's a soft case, with a robust zip which opens the iPad compartment. There is also a second zip pocket where you can put headphones, cleaning cloths, etc. Ok, it's not very slim, but compact while offering reassuring protection. The only area where protection doesn't seem quite as good is in the corners where the stitching culminates.
From day to day my iPad stays in the house, so most of the time the case isn't needed. However when I go away the case is the ideal size to fit into backpacks and cases. Not too bulky!
The fact that the iPad fits comfortably in the case with the smart cover on is an added bonus. I am now content that the screen is fully protected!
Review for the same pleated Belkin sleeve but just on a smaller kindle scale.
From the moment that I had my lovely new kindle clutched in my hands I wanted to protect it. I wanted a cover. But I didn't want one that would always be attached to the kindle as I love how light weight the kindle is and I didn't want to add any extra weight. I also wanted to be able to easily access all of the kindles buttons and be able to hold it as pleasantly as you can without a cover.
Therefore a sleeve was an ideal choice for me.
I wanted something that would protect the kindle when I am not at home or when it wasn't in use. And something to keep it safe when it will inevitably be thrown into my bag and dragged everywhere I go, as I do tend to take my kindle everywhere I go.
It wasn't a difficult choice selecting a Belkin sleeve, as I actually own a few Belkin products and I have never had a big complaint with any of them. The material used in the Belkin sleeve is very tough and made from a sturdy neoprene type of material. I have been using my sleeve for a couple of months now and mine so far it doesn't have a mark on it. The material does provide quite a bit of padding but I still wouldn't recommend throwing your kindle around.
There is also a decent size pocket at the front which is an ideal size to keep your cable in, which is great for making sure you don't misplace it. I also tend to leave some change in there or my Starbucks coffee card, because does anything go better than a great book and a hot cup of yummy coffee? Nope, definitely not.
The sleeve is not that much bigger than the kindle 4. The kindle actually fits fairly snugly and the cover is of course a bit wider but it is an easy size to pop into a handbag or laptop bag. It also has two zips which doesn't really add anything but I do prefer two zips to one.
Personally, I think the hardest choice was not to choose the Belkin sleeve but to pick the colour. I do know that the Belkin pleated sleeve is available in other colours but I picked the very vibrant pink shade.
On a plus side and yes there is another plus to owning a bright pink sleeve is that having such a bright colour means that the sleeve is incredibly easy to find. The pink stands out from almost all surroundings and I can spot my kindle almost instantly in the room, so I rarely lose it.
I purchased my sleeve from Tesco for £15. Although £15 is a bit pricy for something that doesn't do anything it does protect a valuable item and it does it well while looking bright and stylish.
To sum, I really like the Belkin pleated sleeve. It both serves its purpose well and looks great and I leave my kindle in this pleated sleeve whenever I am not using it. It's a sturdy and safe extra. I completely recommend this Belkin sleeve it does the job perfectly and looks great all at the same time.
These pleated Belkin sleeves are available for a whole range of products, not just the kindle (either 3g or 4) but the ipad and I'm sure I saw one for a notebook somewhere.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Belkin sleeve, the cover has lived up to my expectations and it is something that even with daily use still looks great and protects my kindle while I am on the move.
Five out of five stars.
