I have always owned and used carrying cases for my electrical products and my Sat Nav system is no different. Whether it be an mp3 player or mobile phone, I have always experimented with different cases and covers to ensure I keep them in tip-top condition. When I bought my TomTom One The first thing I noticed with the product is that it didn't come with a carrying/protective case. With a touch screen operation I knew it would be important to keep it protected from damage and especially scratches as I would have to look at it during driving to navigate with.
The TomTom One carrying case is an official TomTom product, the fact that it is an officla product certainly appealed to me as I knew the fit would be second to none. Costing a very reasonable £5 from by local electrical superstore I knew it was a steal and I looked forward to using it. The carrying case certainly leaves a very smart look to your TomTom One and the 'One' written on the front of the casing is a nice touch. Obviously this does give away the contents of the case, so it certainly will attract thieves.
The case itself is constructed from a tough and durable material, yet it is still soft to the touch with a material outer finish and lining. There is a strong zip around an inch from the top of the case which zips around three sides of the case. The Sat Nav simple slides snuggly into the main body of the case, with the 'lid' then coming over and being zipped up. At the price of just £5 you really cannot go wrong. I would say that buying an unofficial case would make no sense at all as there is little to fault. Obviously the main concern is that as this is an official product it will be a familiar target for thieves to recognise (similar to the white iPod headphones) and therefore having a third party case could offer benefit in that sense.
The case offers such good protection from both scratches and from being dropped. The snug fit ensures the safe keeping of your device as it is specially designed to accomodate your exact model of Sat Nav. The case comes with a wrist strap for extra security during transit and I would say this is a must-have for owners of the TomTom One Sat Nav system.
Without my TomTom One i'd be...well lost, so i thought it was time to grab a case for when i don't want to leave it in the car. For around £10.99 the simple design means that all you do is slide your GPS in, zip it up and away you go. The TT1 fits snuggly within the lined interior so that when you carry it around in a bag or holdall the screen is protected from any scratches, and not damaged by anything in with it. The same principle applies when driving, when you're not using your TomTom you put it in the case and don't have to worry about it getting jerked around in your glovebox. The brilliant feature of this case is that the exterior of the bag is quite firm and very durable. You could probably scag it on something sharp without causing any major damage. The case comes in black and red and features the "One" logo in the front.
For those of you who don't like to carry your TomTom out of sight there is an inbuilt wrist strap so that you can keep an eye on it at all times.
