A good bag to carry and protect your iPad.

I've owned this about a year and a half, this was bought for me one christmas by my mum and dad with some other things for my iPad. Before I was giving this I had been looking for a bag to carry my iPad when out and about for a while. The bag This is a Black Messenger Bag, it also comes in green. I like handbags in general, but to be honest stylewise this doesn't particularly appeal to me as it has a more functional look, and is more unisex, (not that I could probably get my husband to carry a bag that could be mistaken for a handbag :) ) So this is a functional messenger style bag made from nylon, it is about 11 and a half inches by 10, and in it's functional way is attractive enough. Round the edges is some nice grey edging, and the carry strap has a grey line running through it. The carry strap has what feels like a leather (but is maybe faux leather or pretend cow :) ) shoulder protector, this also has a metal buckle to adjust it, and the bag itself is very thick and padded. It also has a leather (looking :)) section on the front with the brand name Ultimate addons on. As an aside someone recently told me the way to test if something is leather is to try to set fire to it, as leather apparently doesn't burn, I'm not sure if this is true, but I don't think I'll risk it on my bag :) Apart from anything I don't really care if the two parts are leather or not, and I don't recommend trying it :) Inside This is were the bag comes into it's own, it is well padded with lots of pockets and spaces to carry your iPad (or other tablet, maybe even a small netbook). On the back is a small zip compartment handy for tickets or receipts etc. The front of the bag has too magnetic popper style catches, and this flips up to reveal the two main zipped sections. The main section is the largest of the 2. It has a special extra padded section to hold the iPad, and this has a handy velcro strap to hold the top of the section closed and your iPad in place. This is 10 inches long by just over 7 inches in depth, or should that be width? It stretches to about an inch and a half wide or thick. My iPad is within these sizes and fits, the space inside has an extra inch and a half above the extra padding if you were putting something wider in, but I think if it was much wider you would struggle to close the additional inner strap. Also in the main section is a additional section for carrying extra things; cables, junk etc. 2 netting sections to hold some thing small, a section to hold cards, 3 pens and a mobile phone (only about 2 and a half inches wide so probably not big enough for many of today's phones, but mine fits :) ), behind the card holder is a wider compartment which you can get an iPod touch in, and is about 4 inches wide. The second section is smaller, and less deep being only 7 inches, although interestingly the iPad will fit in it. It is however much less padded then the main section, so I wouldn't recommend this. Like the main section it zips shut. Do I like it Yes it is very handy for carrying my iPad and assorted stuff. I usually use it if going away for the day, weekend or on holiday. The pockets are great for holding lots of stuff and when I take it away I like to cram (I mean fill ;) ) it with all my small electricals (iPod touch, sat nav, ds I like gadgets) and their various chargers. On reflection I can't help feeling I've been doing this bag a disservice as I always carry a handbag as well, and therefore find it bulky. Before this review I had never even realised that it had card holders. In future I will be using this when I need it instead of a handbag (gasp), as it clearly can be used for both, or maybe I'll compromise and put a small handbag inside it :) (What can I say I like handbags). So after thinking about it I'll give it 5 stars, as while it's not the prettiest bag in the world, it's definitely handy, and seems to do it's job well.
