Advantages: Up to date design rivalling that of even the newest mobiles

Disadvantages: For those who want the best camera avaliable, it's not here

For a wedding it is tradition to have something old, something new, something blue and of course that something borrowed. Well, whilst I am not marrying this phone it is made by an old favourite of mine in Nokia. Whilst is may not be the newest and most high tech phone on the market, it's sleak look definitly pulls off new to me and blue/black (slightly similar, bare with me here) and of course the final thing.. I have it on contract from Three, so technically I didn't pay a thing and 'borrowed' it from them -- although I do have no intention giving it back to them!

That introduction was all just my big far fetched attempt at gaging your interest to tell you about my brand new mobile phone, Nokia 6120 (Classic), and for those that have paid any slightly interest to my 'About me' comments will know that this has came as a big move for me after leaving Vodafone and owning a new phone for the first time in two years. Coming from someone who used to change phone pretty much every 6 months, mostly due to damaging them in a drunken state, that's not half bad. I was sick and tired of Nokia 6680, and I couldn't stand around and watch advertisements and my friends getting new phones any longer.

Nokia was my original mobile phone, and I've pretty much grown up with the brand as that's the type of phone my brothers always used to have, and that makes it quite hard to choose against Nokia and get a brand of phone where everything will be upside down and the wrong way round. I have only ever had one phone that wasn't a Nokia, and that was a Motorola flip phone. I seem to remember getting sick and tired of the screen, and changed, that was also possibly the last time I was on pay as you go, but don't hold me to that, we're going back some years here! I knew that I had to get off pay as you go from an early age, because quite frankly back then they didn't offer anything anywhere near as good as contract. I now know there are a lot of different benefits you can get from pay as you go if you get with the right company, although contracts have improved a lot as well.

I decided that Vodafone had quite frankly been ripping me off, and whilst my original intention was to get a Samsung I was looking through one of my mums womens magazines and saw a phone offer that I quite frankly couldn't refuse. Three network, 600 texts and 75 minutes a month for £15. I quickly followed the site address, and there was a list of phones to choose from. After doing a little bit of comparison, I decided I would choose the Nokia over my second choice Sony phone. On the site is said that the offer ran out of the end of the month, but it appears that incredibly similar offers just run month in and month out. Someone told me not to go on Three because they were an awful network, but whilst I had heard some bad things about them and pay as you go customers, I couldn't turn down this almost incredibly contract deal and so far I have had no problems with them. Yes I know this review is supposed to be on the phone, I'm just giving you the back story.

Before deciding to definitly move in for this phone, I decided to look for a video review on YouTube, and that's something that has been working out quite well for me lately as there was a review on there. The review showed 3D Snake was on the phone, and that sealed the deal.

So lets take a look at th phone, it is much smaller than my old phone but definitly a design I prefer. The height and width is pretty much perfect, and whilst the depth of the phone is a little fatter than I would have liked, I can't really complain. Nokia doesn't seem to do flat phones. Two memory cards were included with the phone, and due to the fact that I'm so out of date with setting up new phones lately I did have to read the manual. It said to just slide the back off, and this was something I found quite difficult, probably a lot of that was due to the fact that the phone has such a sleak design I'm scared to ruin it (was that a good cover up for my lack of raw man power?). The battery, SIM and memory card (I'm not sure what the bigger memory card is actually for, I've just put it back in the box) went in like pretty much most phones do I guess, but lets talk more about the overall look. The prime colour is this reflective black that you can almost see yourself in, however there is a boarder of silver that really brings out the colours and looks incredible.

On top of the phone, the on off button is located in the middle with an orange boarder around it. The phone has a front camera and a back camera with flash, and just as my usual experience with Nokia phones the back camera is much better quality than the front camera. Something I miss about my old phone is that the back camera does not have a cover, however at 2 megapixels the camera is a better quality. As I have said though, this isn't the newest and best phone on the market so I'm sure you can get phones with much better cameras on them. I hear Sony are actually leading the way when it comes to camera phones, slapping on ones with about 5 megapixels and automatic covers. The screen is bright and vibrant, no complaints at all there.

As for the layout of the buttons, it is very easy to get used to, however the one thing I do not like about the phone currently is the square directional button. It is slightly hard to use. The phone memory is much larger than phones I have had before, and I'm going to start loading music on to this beauty once I have finished the review. One thing that has distressed me about Nokia phones in the past is the lack of dedication to music, although Nokia do seem to be aiming to bring out more music phones. Thankfully all the cables and such were included, so that I can install the CD ROM and should have no problem sharing content between my phone and computer just like I have had no real issues in the past. Texting is the same as per, and I'm sure once I get further used to the keys I will be as quick as ever. The contacts is also the same as usual, although one interesting point is if I put in 'mum', not only will it show up my mum but it will also show the numbers of other peoples mums that I have. I can't say I know much about the technical sides of phones, or anything for that matter, but I know this phone is up there with including things like e-mail and radio.

The themes are quite limited and the default ones aren't all that great, but I think that changes depending on what network you are on. Interestingly another thing that changes depending on network is games, and that Snake 3D that I was so looking forward to wasn't included. Games included are free demos of Pac-man, Who wants to be a millionaire and Monopoly. The only three game is some not very fun Tetris-ripoff known as 'Marble'.

Just like any other phone, the calendar is as good as ever there, and all the office features such as calculator and that. The phone does offer quite a high level of customisation, and that includes the ability to turn on a feature that tells you the name of who is ringing you. For example, if Oliver was ringing me my phone would say 'Oliver' in this robot voice. Ok, it's a bit pointless for someone in my possition but it can be a laugh to play around with. Sorry, I'm guessing I've just gone down in everyones estimations!!

I really do like this phone, and as I grow with it I will let you know if anything comes about with it, but right now I see very little fault in Nokia and do not believe I made the wrong choice.

Summary: Try not to get too worked up about the fingerprint marks.

While this is already a long review, I didn't see much reference regarding the sound quality (can you hear people/can they hear you) or the battery life - two things I think are very basic bits of information. Still, nicely written.
