Advantages: Compact, stylish, easy to use

Disadvantages: Battery

Nokia 6300 has been one of the most successful low/mid end handsets. Popular with its style, build quality, high resolution screen, easy keypad, light and compact, and well, affordable.

The feel of the phone is nice, the metal case back and soft clear touch keys are very attractive. The keypad is responsive and the TFT screen with 16M colours is just brilliant (to be expected from a low/mid-end phone). The user interface is S40 and this is comfortable, easy and quick - one of the most successful of the OSs. The big big problem lay somewhere else, the batter. The battery life was so short, and the phone was so power hungry that it was like fueling the Bentley. The phone will JUST last a day if you left it by itself. Sometimes 2 charges a day was necessary - yes its that bad.

Contract for this very cheap (even cheaper now), and you can obtain with 10-15 pounds a month, free handset. I would suggest however, to go about this by purchasing the phone separately and then buying the contract or PAYG.

Summary: If it wasn't for the battery life, this phone would be one of the best sellers
