Advantages: beautiful design, veryeasy to use, fantastic new features
Disadvantages: quite heavy, some old features
In my opinion the 8600 luna is one of the most beautiful phone from noki and i think it will be for a while. Most of the phone is made from stainless steel which makes the phone really durable unlike some other phones. The sliding style along with the smoked screen make this phone look really classy and expensive, but it isn't. Currently i'm on a contract of £35 a month, which is fab.
The phone comes with a fabulous new 2 megapixel camera which takes excellent quality photos along woth picture perfect video clips to capture those special moments. The camera lens are protected by the sliding back which is really useful as my phones tend to fall on the floor quite often. The classic menu which is like the one in 6230i is further upgraded and animated. One option in the menu is the media option which has the media and mesuc player along with a excellent voice recorder. Theres also a radio with FM with a wide reception. An equaliser is also put in there to help with your fave music.
Another option is organiser which is perfect for those business type people. Like the name suggest it really helps organise all your notes, dates and thoses special reminders. I think i've currently got 10 reminders witha loud alarm set to on. Theres also the 3D gaming which will keep you busy for hours along with applications like converter (which can be upgraded) and a world clock which you can use to see 4 times together which can be really useful for those travelly people.
Another feature that further enhances the phone is the web browsing. You can view websites in HTML which is really easy to use, but first you have to configure the settings.
The reception varies depending on the network that you use. I have found that the best serviced network is orange as it has the widest recpetion plus the clarity of calls is brilliant where ever you are. You get no disturbance what so ever, however reception qualties sometimes goes don't by a slight percentage when the weather is extremely bad, but this is in rare cases. I have also been told from my friends who have this phone that the recpetion quality isn't as good on O2 or vodaphone.
Connectivity is really easy with this phone. It comes along with a wire to connect to your PC. Theres also the bluetooth and infrared. The phone also comes with a CD - Rom which you can use to install the nokia PC suite which can be really useful to convert your songs, pictures and videos.
Organising your contacts is made really easy with this phone along with text messaging and SMS messaging. You can download several things via your PC and the web access that is available. So far i'v e downloaded several free tones, graphics and some pictures. You camn also download games and songs that cos you money.
Overall, this phone has it all except a navigational system. Its brilliant for everyday use or for business use. Its really easy to use and looking at easiness i'd pick it anyday over the N series. The best thing about the phone is the design as i mentioned and described as beautiful.
Summary: a beautiful phone with excellent features. A must have for me
