Advantages: Feature packed, sleek, powerful
Disadvantages: crashes every now and then
I am a self confessed gadget freak, and slave to Nokia, but, at the same time, I HATE having the same gear as other people, or being a sheep to tech and fashion like the majority of the populace.
With this in mind, after pretty much having a Nokia for every phone I've ever had, (was it the 3210 I started on? It's hard to keep track of all the numbers!) I had one stumble along the way, with the worst phone I have ever owned (some rubbish LG thing). I was the only person I know that had a 7710 with it's stylus and widescreen video format. I knew no one else with an N80 - the most powerful smartphone available when I got it... then I was forced to get an N95. Not my choice, although, when I first read about it, I couldn't wait.
But, I'm on contract. By the time it came around for me to pick a new phone, N95s were as common as chavs, and I really didn't want to be sen dead with one. So, I'd keep it hidden as much as possible until it was time to get a new phone.
Then... I heard about a new nokia. Unlike the N95 black thing with 8gig memory, this phone had 16gig, and had a slot for hot swappable cards.
Best of all? No one was talking about it. Still - no one could even guess what my phone is. And that is what I like. To stand apart from the crowd, with a technological equivalent that serves my needs down to the ground.
The phone is smooth. It is chunky enough to remind you that you are holding a piece of power. If... IF!!! they would ever go for it, you could watch live freeview through it in realtime with its DVB(? DVBH?) inbuilt receiver.
Best of all - no one has one! In a world where even my dog has an iPhone, and never shuts up about it, it is nice to have a phone with more storage capacity, which feels like a phone, acts like a PHONE, even has fairly decent movie and music playback, a really good camera, web browser, and now with the Ovi store, you can even get apps like an iPhone slave.
The mobile has a strange tendancy to crash every now and then, but it reboots very quickly.
If you want to stand apart from the crowd, with a feature packed phone, this is the phone for you.
Summary: Another great Nokia!
