... as some sort of echo of the Italian name tocco? :) The vibration feedback on touching buttons is good and I like how you can change the level of the feedback (you can also get volume feedback in the form of a beep but after 30 seconds of texting with the beep on I was ready to throw my phone off a wall). The only thing is that I wish there was some sort of of recalibration setting as there is with the tocco light, as the calibration of mine has gone out a bit after 8 months of use. But I can live with it. Textin...more

Crowned Review Samsung SGH-F480 with Contract: Tocco or not Tocco - That is the Question (1431 words)

My late husband was gadget daft. He was the first person I know who had a netbook, paying over a grand for the privilege. I could weep when I see how much you pay now for far more spec, but if he were still here, he'd just have moved unsentimentally on to the latest model. His fascination for gadgets was never more keen than when it came to phones. He was the first person I knew who had a mobile phone that stored and played music, an old Samsung that sadly met its untimely end when he went swimming with it in his pocket while we were on holiday in Thailand. His last phone was the Nokia N95 which I inherited after he died. I used it for a few weeks before ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Budget touch phone? Alright then (361 words)

After years of wasting away money with pay as you go (really, some call charge are just silly) i thought it was high time to get a contract phone and this one seemed perfect for me. I got it on Virgin Mobile for for £18 a month and didn't pay a penny for the handset (always a good thing). 200 minutes and 500 texts for 18 months seemed reasonable to me. I love the way this phone looks, stylish and sleek and the leather cover is good to prevent scratches on the screen and the back. Maybe they added the leather as some sort of echo of the Italian name tocco? :) The vibration feedback on touching buttons is good and I like how you can change the level ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Samsung SGH-F480 with Contract: THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF WIDGETS (2408 words)

I'll be honest with you; the Samsung Tocco (F480) was not my first choice mobile; I really wanted an iPhone. Sadly however, you can only acquire one of the Apple-esq wonders if you sell your soul and empty your wallet to O2. Don't get me wrong, I love O2; they have been my one and only network provider and the service has always been faultless. But whereas now I am paying £15 a month for a decent amount of texts and minutes, the lowest tariff for the iPhone is double that - and for your £30 a month you get a derisory 75 minutes and 125 texts. Oh, and you have to fork out the best part of £160 for the iPhone itself! Sad as it made me the decision was made to look ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lean Mean Touchscreen Machine! (315 words)

After losing my Samsung Tocco a few weeks ago I now realise where this phone succeeds where others fail. To begin with the battery life is amazing, much better than I would have expected. After the Tocco's fully charged mine would usually last between 5-7 days with constant use as i was always on msn, sending texts or taking pictures! To a person unfamiliar with touchscreen phones it an be quite daunting to begin with but like all other mobie phones you become familiar with sending texts, taking phone calls etc. Sending texts is difficult to begin with but I found it actually easier after while to send a text than on another non-touchscreen ...  Read the complete review

I do agree with most people that this phone is quite good feature wise, but from my experience with the Samsung Tocco F480, i can tell you it hasn't been a good one for me. When I started out with this phone, i saw some great features in action, the video playback on its screen was excellent, it looked like i was watching a portable dvd player on the move, and along with its audio quality for music was very good, but in comparison to one of my old nokia phones, the nokia sound was a lot better. Photos weren't too bad on it either although it seemed like it was a 3.2 digital camera disguised as a 5mp camera, if youre looking for a better camera than ...  Read the complete review
