Advantages: Walkman, earphones supplied, easy to use, stylish.

Disadvantages: Transferring music files.

The Sony Ericsson w810i walkman phone was one of my first Sony Ericssons I purchased. I has used Nokias up until that point but there was definetly a huge difference and afterwards I was definetly converted.

The phone is supplied with a USB cable, earphones (which are great for getting rid of background noise but won't annoy fellow commuters on the bus/train when you have your music blaring), and the CD software.

The menus are easy to follow, the keypad and joystick are great, not like other phones i have owned which are so fidley.

What seperates the W810i from any other mobile is walkman facility, which allows you add near 400 mp3 tracks (dependant on memory card). At the time I found this very useful as I didnt own a mp3 player.

The camera on the phone is superb, with an added light and other functions to make your photos look far much interesting. It works like any basic digital camera with the ability to take photos in black and white, sepia tone, panoramic, fun frames and many more. My favourite is the burst mode which allows you to take 4 photos one after the other, fantastic for moving images to create an artsy shot.

One of the problems I found was that transferring music using the software is difficult if not impossible. It would be much easier to use if it was not so complicated. I just copied and pasted music files into the folders of the handset.

Apart from that, I had no other problems. It lasted its contracted time of 18 months and was handy to keep just incase my new contract phone needed a repair.

I have used alot of the new sony ericsson handsets but nothing has impressed me as much as the w810i.

Summary: Grand phone, Sony Ericsson at its best.
