Advantages: Cheap, Long Battery
Disadvantages: Everything Else
I found that this phone was really not worth the £50 i spent on it. Sure, it is pretty cheap; but it does not match any of its competitors.
It looks very good, however there are several problems with it. Firstly, it is extremely annoying to get used to the fact that the big button in the middle takes you to Skype instead of menu. To add
to this, the screen lacks brightness. The camera is 2.0 Megapixels, but is not that great quality.
I also found the Skype application excruciatingly hard to use, as it requires 3G coverage to function. In addition, the phone would inevitably freeze for about 20 seconds every time a texts was received.
The music player was okay, but the headphones were poor quality and what's more, the Skypephone does not allow you to use your own headphones. So definitely don't see this as a replacement for your iPod...
I also found that it broke very easily. The screen scratched within a week, and within 2 months the back of the phone had fallen off.
I would strongly recommend you avoid this product. It is all filler and no killer - it looks great and has no substance. Get yourself a Nokia for the same price.
Summary: Good for anyone looking for a pay-as-you go phone on a budget.. but not very durable!

- 16/06/08 This doesn't sound great, but I wonder if it is supposed to be used more as a cell phone or as a phone for using skype? What about the sound quality, battery life and other things that show how it works as a phone. |
