Advantages: 2 megapixel camera quality is good, Skype built-in, don't have to top up for three months

Disadvantages: Not the highest megapixel camera phone on the market, design can fade over time, no flash

The 3 Skypephone is one of the first mobile phone to come with Skype already built in. The phone can connect to Skype and you can chat or text to people who have Skype on their computer or their mobile phone. The call quality is quite good too, but not as good as normal call quality. You can access Skype by pressing one button on the phone and either logging in using your details, or you can create an account. To be able to use Skype to the full you had to top up £10 each month, but now this has changed to £10 every three months which i think is worth putting some money on your phone for.

The mobile can play mp3's, video, sms and all the usual things a mobile phone can do. This comes with a 2 megapixel camera with video, which i think is not bad but it's a shame there is no flash. I have bought some java games of a couple of websites that are 3d such as Tiger woods PGA tour. Just keep in mind it only plays java games and not symbian games. There are a few extra buttons such as turning the volume up or down on the side of the phone, which i find really useful. Also there is a button on the right hand side of the phone to change from one application/program to another. This phone is best for people who work in a business or from home and not for those who don't know what Skype is (you can learn what Skype is if you want), or don't have contacts on Skype. But the price may persuade you is it will not be over £40. Perhaps if you talk alot and you want to be in contact with your friends and not have to worry about mobile phones costs, then this would be great as long as you can get your friends to go on Skype either on a mobile or their computer.

There are a few problems but not many with this phone. It is
locked to 3, and i can't find a way to unlock it, but perhaps you will. The casing seems to be made with some sort of thin paint, which can result in it being scraped off easily if your not carefull. There is no flash whereas some phones today have a higher pixel camera and flash, but this phones camera does take some good shots.

Overall the phone is a good looking, stylish and affordable mobile with the added bonus of Skype, but there are better phones out on the market now. The price is great for what it has to offer and if you like Skype, have many friends or are just getting into Skype then this is for you.
