Advantages: Excellent value, Very good hands free function
Disadvantages: Cant compete with todays stylish, feature packed phones
Alcatel is a relatively new phone manufacture but its started of with a bang. It excels in hands free mobile phones providing crystal clear hands free conversations at the press of a button. The Alcatel MaxDB was its 1st released pay as you go phone in the UK and when it was released it was top of its range. However even now it can prove a excellent phone for those people after a cheap but also not under featured phone. As you can see by the picture the phone is a very sporty white & black colour but for those who prefer a toned down black version they also offer the phone in black & grey. The phones buttons are layed out very well with some very useful scroll buttons on the side of the phone, used to scroll down menus and txt's. The phone is not exactly compact but it can comfortable fit into your pocket and is definitely not a bulky or "brick" phone. It is also not very heavy for its size and it also offers you a choice of AAA batteries instead of the normal phone charge up battery. The phone also comes complete with a belt clip on so you can attach the phone onto your trousers. Its main feature is its very good hands free feature as stated earlier in the review. Giving you the chance to have crystal clear(as long as a good reception) conversations well standing meters away from your phone. Other features include the usual time & date, phone lock & 20 ring tunes. So basically for those of you out there for the latest stylish and feature packed phone onthe market rule this phone out. However those who are not willing to spend a lot but who would not like a unstylish and under featured phone then pick up this phone for as little as £20 under Virgin & £30 for other networks.
