Advantages: Gorgeous Design, Excellent User Experience,
Disadvantages: Unable to send picture messages
I've had my iphone for over nine months now and I would highly recommend it to anyone, in fact everyone should get one and then we'll all get skype and never pay for a call again!
First off, the touch screen is responsive and the visual design makes it really easy to navigate and understand.
The typing function was hard at first as I thought it was too small for my fingers but once I realised that the spelling programme understands this and automatically corrects me then it became much easier. It would be nice to have functionality to add new words (like my name) to a dictionary.
I am a serial downloader of applications and games and there is an amazing range of these available, most of these have 'lite' versions which you don't have to pay for and there's a lot of good lifehacking tools on there for free to. This does mean my battery life goes down a lot faster but if you carry your USB charger cord with you it's usually easy to find a computer! I've never yet run out of space but I tend not to keep many photos on there.
This was really useful to me as a freelancer last year as the googlemaps app and geolocation function that comes with the 3G was great as I was running around the country.
My only criticism would be that you can't (yet) send picture messages although you can email them very easily. I've heard rumours that the latest Operating System will allow us to send picture messages an also use the iphoe as an internet tethering device which is fantastic news.
If you're considering buying one then I'd go into an apple store and have a play! You probably wont be able to resist.
Summary: Awesome, seriously

- 16/06/09 I can't help wondering why Apple thought they could "cripple" the iPhone by not including functions every other new mobile has as standard - no MMS or video recording? What were they thinking? ;-) |
