Advantages: Very usable, great applications
Disadvantages: Poor battery life
This is a fantastic phone.
Simple.
I have been using my iPhone for the last six months and it certainly comes highly recommended. As I have stated it is simply fantastic, and it is in its simplicity that this phone reaches such a high standard.
Firstly, the phone layout. It has a large 3 inch touch-screen with one button at the base of the phone,a volume slider on the side and a 'lock' button on the top. The lack of buttons and the highly responsive touch screen make the phone extremely usable. This marks a departure from phones I have previously owned such as the LG Viewty and the Samsung d800, where buttons can lag and confuse phone process.
Secondly, the user interface, it contains click-able icons which open up various functions such as your phone book, contacts list, text messaging, camera etc. Below these icons there is a panel of 4 key buttons, one to open up the 'phone' function, another opening emails, one opening web browsing and the final button opening the iPod. The ease of navigating around the interface is great, with just one click of the button on the base of the phone returning the user back to the menu screen.
Thirdly, and perhaps the biggest plus point for this phone is the ability to download applications. There are a plethora of options to choose from, some you may have to pay a small fee for (up to £5) but there are a great number that are free to use. For example I have the facebook application that allows me to check and update my facebook page, 'around me' which tells me the nearest bars, restaurants, banks, coffee shops, car parks, hotels, cinemas, supermarkets etc, to my current location! There are also a number of high quality apps for keeping up to date with the all important football, rugby and cricket scores!
Perhaps the only downside to this phone however is the poor(ish) battery life. It will usually last only about 30 hours before it needs a charge, but if you're working every day like myself, I just stick it on charge when I get back in and its ready to go for the next day!
But, despite this, it really is a great phone and i would highly recommend it!
Summary: A highly recommended phone for anyone, very easy and looks and feels great to use
