Advantages: Good reception and with app store the phone always has something new

Disadvantages: Do not drop or it will chip easy. Depending on use battery life can be poor

My boyfriend has the iphone 3G on O2 contract. If you are not sure about getting the iphone i would recomend visiting your local O2 shop first to have a go first because the contract my boyfriend is on you have to have the phone for 2 years, unless you want to pay a fee for the phone, then you can have it for a year.

When you first recieve the phone it comes in a smart litlle box, with a little fold out quick start guide however if you want to really get the most out of iphone visit the iphone section of apple's website if you want to learn the in's and out's of the different features.

Like the ipod nano you will need to have itunes installed on either your mac or PC to activate the phone or you wont be abled to use it.

Now getting to the phone itself.... The phone is brilliant. It can do just about anything. Including now with the 3.0 update you can now do MMS (Media Messaging Service) or Picture messaging for you phone dummies out there.

It is all touch screen and you can slide in between menus by sliding your finger across the screen. It is all laid out with clear pictures and a little note of what it is so if you want to use the phone. Just tap the phone icon, Done.

The design is now thinner than the iphone 2G which makes it fit into your hand more easier and comftably. Phone reception is also pretty good as well as internet reception, Which supports WIFI, 3G and EDGE networks. The apps are amazing, and can be downloaded using your exsisting itunes username and password. They don't take long to download either.

Usability is endless with this phone and i would recomend this phone to anyone rather than settling with rival counterparts
