A great device but still missing some simple current features (Apple iPhone 3G 16 GB)

Where on earth do I start with this very much 'all in one' device! Here it goes!

The is the second model of phone released by technology masterminds apple, the first being the 2G version.

There was an insane amount of build up to the release of this phone, the massive success that was the original iPhone was to have an upgrade!

So the new 3G was released! But I can't see any changes? Ok the Internets considerably faster with it's 3g speed but the rest of the interface is the same? These were my thoughts when getting the product at first! 

Yes it's a revolutionary device which encorporates a fantastic web browser, brilliant iPod technology, email and if course sleek phone features. However, for a phone this 'hi tech' at this time why does it still only feature a bare 2 megapixel camera and why can it still not capture video? Other phones in the field were capable if even 5 megapixels at this time which has now got even better! 

Anyway enough of my annoyances with the device!

* looks *

The phone features a few visual changes from the original, the back has been changed from a heavy silver aluminium to a new sleek plastic backing (black for the 8gb, black or white for the 16gb) the other most visual change which I love is the newly flush mounted headphone socket meaning you can use whichever heaphones you like with no restrictions!

* camera *

No changes with the camera from the original, still just 2 megapixels with no extra features such as video, flash or zoom :(

* music player *

No real changes here either, still features the menu allowing quick selection or search of artist, track and playlist, when turned to landscape the iPod converts to cover flow mode where you can simply flick through your covers to find the track you want.

* email *

Again the great email features the same interface allowing quick connection and retrieval of your emails! I currently use it alongside my aol account and have had no issues at any stage with it!

* Internet *

This is of course the highlight of the new device! The jump from 2g to 3g speeds is very much noticable (providing your in a 3g area) if not 3g connection then you will get an edge connection. Either are faster then before! Allows for quicker Internet use and application downloads as well!

Unfortunately the phone us still locked to only the o2 network and generally comes attached to an expensive contract per month before you've even thought if insurance! OR what I would recommend is doing what I did and purchase the phone on pay as you go ( i got mine for £320) and then whacking a simplicity card in, I took one of the online contracts for 12 months where I get 800 minutes 1600 texts and unlimited data I then got a years insurance from talkcover for £56 which is much more reasonable in my opinion!

A tough review to write on something that has much to say about but I hope it helps! 

A great all round device however it does lack some major technical abilities at the moment!
