Irreplacable (Apple iPhone 3G 16 GB)

Advantages: Phone, Internet and iPod all rolled into one gadget Disadvantages: 3G uses a lot of battery After dominating the portable music player market Apple turns its attention to mobile phones. The iPhone 3G is undoubtedly the best gadget that I own and has become the one thing I cannot live without. The sleek and elegant design we have come to know and love from Apple products does not dissapoint and overall it is made from sturdy stuff. The back casing may be plastic and a bit scratch prone but in general it seems resilient enough to withstand bumps and knocks. Like all Apple devices the interface is simple and a joy to use. Clear icons and an intuative multi-touch screen make navigation of the phone's features easy as pie. With thousands of useful applications on the 'App store' (most of which are free) from games to utilities, there seems to be no end to the iPhone's capabilities. The internet browser is versatile and can cope with the vast majority of websites in their full glory and not in the dreaded lightweight 'mobile' forms. With most of the country covered by 3G, loading times are relatively speedy with most sites loading in under 10 seconds but Edge and GPRS can take a bit longer. Sound quality for phone calls is brilliant and the speakers work well enough for casual listening, and although they get a lot of stick, even the bundled earphones provide satisfactory quatlity for listening to the fantastic iPod feature. Summary: The best gadget let alone phone I have ever owned, excellent for internet addicts and music lovers.
