Advantages: Very easy to use, good looking phone, loads of great features

Disadvantages: Battery life - charging it every other day.

I admit, I was somewhat skeptical of the iPhone buzz, sticking with my trusty line of Sony Ericcon mobiles for many years. However, after starting a new job in the corporate world, I decided that I needed the ability to check my email on the go, browse the web easily and for personal use - even keep up to date on Facebook. I had a look around at the models on the market, including the offerings from Nokia and Blackberry, but was severely unimpressed, especially given the price and monthly cost on contract. I opted for the iPhone and haven't looked back since - I love the thing.

People also often ask about the battery life - I use it fairly heavy and end up charging it every other day. Daily if I am on the Internet constantly. It might sound like a pain but you actually get used to it. However, if you use it like a normal mobile, its fair to expect 2 (maybe 3) days worth of battery life.

It goes without saying that the phone itself is very user friendly. Storing contacts, making calls and even texting are all very easy tasks - as you'd expect from an Apple product.

On a slightly different note, I often read reviews that slate the iPhone for its camera - but I have to say, I have never been disappointed with its quality. The only thing I think I would point out is that the unit itself attracts fingerprints - but then any touchscreen would.

What I love most is the thousands of applications available for the iPhone. I have downloaded various free applications that are both practical (Google Maps, Weather Forecasts etc) and surprisingly entertaining (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, TVGuide, various games etc). The App store has something for everybody.

In short, I believe this phone does deserve the hype. It's extremely fun and easy to use, and as previously suggested, has something for everybody. The pricing may put some people off but compared with the functionality of web browsing and other aspects available, I believe it is well worth the money.

Summary: Great product, even for somebody that was slow to catch on.
