I got an iPhone after months pining over it and desperately wanting it! I found £200-300 a bit too much to shell out for a handset while still paying a large bill of about £45 per month. I waited until it came down in price and bought it when the handset was free and was paying £35 per month on the contact. I found this totally reasonable as i would pay roughly that amount on my contract anyway.

I HATE the iPhone. The iTunes wouldn't connect on mine at all, my wifi worked intermittently, you can't change message tone or ringtone to a song. If you download a song from itunes and want to use it as a ringtone, you have to pay another additional fee to do this. (rip off). The software isn't as good as most people think. I thought the lack of bluetooth wouldn't bother me but it did- a lot! Not being able to send picture messages was another of my hates.

There is so much that it CAN do that other phones can't but i thought that what it CANT do was just too much for me. The phone went back and i bought a nice Samsung I8510.

Summary: don't buy it unless you know you definitely can live without things like bluetooth
