I absolutely love my iphone! I first bought my 8GB 3G iphone in December last year and wondered why i hadn't gotten it sooner.
The thing i love best about the iphone is the way it looks, no other phone can compare. It is superbly sleek and immensely beautiful. It is very easy to use - even my nan can use it.
The internet connection on it is very fast for a phone and i use it almost everyday. There are applications for everything and never realised how much i would use that side of the phone, i have applications for reading books, for social interaction sites, games, photograph enhancements, speed camera locations...there is pretty much an application for everything you may need. I always download the free versions too because it gives you a chance to see if you like the application and will use it.
The camera is slightly less than 2MP but if you ask me i cannot tell the difference in actual picture quality. Even when i put the photographs onto my computer you can't see an obvious difference to that compared with my 13MP digital camera. The only thing the camera lacks is a flash. It makes using the camera in the dark impossible.
Messaging is now easier since the new version 3.0 update, you can now turn the phone on its side and get bigger keys to type with. I did find that a problem before because my nails would often get in the way and i'd press other keys. The iphone holds all your messages in one window so you can view your entire conversation history with your contact. This is ideal if you've forgotten what you texted your friend a few days before.
I had an Ipod before i got my iphone and no longer need it because the phone holds my collection of albums easily.
I also use the calendar daily and find it very easy to use. It has three different ways to view your appointments and because of this i have done away with my filofax.
The bad points about the iphone is that it lacks a video camera. I do miss not having one. Also every now and again it freezes (once every couple of months) but if you switch it off and on again it cures itself. I have found no particular reason for the freezing.
Overall this is a fantastic piece of technology and would recommened to everyone.
