Advantages: Easy to use, full querty keyboard, large screen
Disadvantages: Expensive to buy if you don't have it on a contract
Introduction
Having been a faithful Sony Ericsson user for so long it was a difficult decision to upgrade to a Blackberry - but i needed to receive and send emails on the move - and i felt this was my easiest option. In short - i love it!
Look and Feel/Ease of use
This is a great looking phone, slick, and smart. It is also surprisingly light (111g) and extremely easy to use. As a typist, having access to a full keyboard is heaven and the keys for me are big enough to easily write quickly. It has a perfectly sized screen so you can clearly see text messages emails without having to squint (!) and the multitude of options are easy to navigate with the roller ball.
Features
It has more features than i know what to do with to be honest but these include a camera, a multi-media player, built-in GPS, expandable memory, voice dialing and BlackBerry Maps. Of course there is also email, text messaging, instant messaging and internet access. As the email function was the main reason for me purchasing the phone i was concerned about how easy it would be to set up but i need not have worried. Within 24 hours of me receiving my Blackberry, my email was set up and working perfectly. I particularly like the fact that you also don't have to keep checking your phone to see if an email has come through as a red LCD light flashes on the top of your Blackberry to let you know!
Durability & Robustness
I'll admit that i have accidentally dropped the phone on the ground a few times but it has shown no ill effects at all so i would say that this is also quite a robust phone.
Battery Standby Time
If i have charged the phone all night, then used the phone all day sending and receiving emails and text messages, by the evening, the charge has only dropped by one bar (out of five).
Overall
My Blackberry Curve is on a contract and for me it has been well worth it. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this excellent phone.
Summary: A fantastic phone for people who have to be on the move 24/7
