Advantages: Email on the go and very easy to use.
Disadvantages: Quirky keypad that takes some time to get used to
First thing to say is I can't live without my Blackberry! I rely on this so much that I now understand why their nickname is a "Crackberry."
I have lived with the phone since release date and at first found it very tricky to get the hang of. In some cases it was truly annoying; BUT the phone has been transformed with the latest software updates and I now no longer find myself giving up writing an email as I once did before.
The first thing after buying the phone is ensure it is up-to-date software wise. This is quite easy as the disc that comes in the box, along with the data cable, means that you can quickly install the software and update the phone (note: Internet Connection is required.)
I feel the most important thing that this phone does better than all others is Email. Setting up my Gmail account on the phone was a breeze and took seconds and didn't require any complicated steps - was as simple as inputting my username and password and away it went. One tip for all those who use Google mail / calendar with the phone is download the Google sync application. This allows the phone to sync with your full Google account and vise versa. This is brilliant for me as I have a poor memory so I update my calendar on my Blackberry and then it updates to my Google account automatically.
Next, Battery life. One thing I hate more than anything with a phone is charging it all the time but not with the Blackberry Storm. I find even if I use it a lot during the day I can get away with charging it every couple of days. For a smart phone this is brilliant!
The music playback quality on this phone is superb; I even sold my iPod as I no longer used it. I invested in a good quality set of headphones and a 16 GB memory card which just adds more to this phone.
Twitter - for most people who use twitter they don't like to be very far from it for very long. The Blackberry Storm is your friend for this.
The build quality of the Blackberry Storm is superb. I have - sadly - dropped the phone on more than one occasion but its still in one piece and looks like new.
The only down side to the phone is that it's not very easy to just pick up and use. My girlfriend gives up using it and asks me to type whatever she wants. However, this isn't too bad of a point as if you give it some time, you do get used to the style of the keypad.
After about 20minutes of using it most people pick it up and it does start to feel more natural. When typing on the phone you actually physically press down the screen to select what you want - it's like one big button. It's quite a rewarding sensation as you know when you're selecting something.
All in all I love my Blackbery and couldn't live without it. Email on the go... wow!

- 24/08/09 Try typing on you're iphone and then on the blackberry, and you forget you have to push the screen to type! |

- 24/07/09 I have a work BB Curve and understand the speed of the qwerty keyboard. I have become quite quick with the storm however. Its all about personal taste I suppose. |
