Ericsson GA 628

I was the proud owner of a Nokia 3210 until 6 weeks ago when I had my phone stolen. Gone was the lovely shiny phone and its SIM card. Being a VODAPHONE customer, I thought it would be easy to get back on the air. I was wrong. Firstly I ordered a new SIM. It turned up in a couple of days. I then tried to find an old phone to use it with. I tried an actual Vodaphone phone that was being used as a pay as you go type. It would not work with my sim. I tried my mates old Nokia 7110 that he used on the Orange Network. Still no joy. The ericsson GA628 was The first mobile I ever owned, and it will always hold some sentimental value in my heart. I brought this phone about two years ago when it had just been released, to most of the other mobiles about at the time, it was by far one of the best. The phone itslef looks very dull in comparison to say the nokia 3210, but then again you get what you pay. The biggest downfalls about the phone is that the arial is very week and I have had to replace it 4 times in the time I have had it(which can get very costly.) I have this phone at the moment. It is a good phone although very basic compared with some around now. You can change the faces of the phone if you want to. But there is not really much of a choice like the other phones. I do find that this phone seems to be good on battery life but I do have a problem hearing it ring. It isn't very loud. I have the volume turn up full and sometimes when I am out and the phone is in my bag. I miss calls. This can be quite annoying at times. OK so it may not look the best phone in the world. Think about it as long as it does it's job that's all you need to worry about. I can safely say that the GA628 can take damage and still work perfectly. As long as you are not fussy about the way the phone looks I would say that this was the phone for you. There are no games on it but then do you really want to play games on a mobile? One thing that does bug me about this phone is the missed calls section. Unless the person calling is already logged into your number database the number that comes up is unknown which is really useful. I used to like this phone alot, but that was when it was first out, it is now quite old! It has changeable fronts, well changeable squares that fit round the buttons! It is a brick of a phone and is a square, not stylish at all.
