This Phone is not yet out....but it looks like it's going to be top of the pile. I only hope the price it launches at (conflicting launch dates of Oct-Dec 2000, or Jan-Feb 2001) will keep it competitive. This is the only phone I have been able to find which is Tri-band, Bluetooth enabled and has GPRS for fast internet access. It is more suited for business users. The looks are not dis-similar to current Ericsson handsets and it is one of the lighter phones around. I saw the prototype model at Live2000 and it looks neat. Nice keypad design for easy control. The R250s pro is weatherproof, dustproof and is reinforced to with stand plenty of knocks. The phone is built especially for farmer, builders etc.It is a hefty handset at 330g. The phone is protected by rubber strips which are found all over the exterior. The chassis of the phone is made of a touch magnesium alloy, whilst the delicate inwards are protected by gore tex membrane. There are ghood features and very good sound quality. Admittedly this is no budget phone but those who need it the expense is justified. ... Read the complete review

This phone is mainly designed for those in the building industry who need to communicate in conditions that aren't really suitable for a cheap, 'drop once - break forever' phone. It is shock, dust and water resistant and given that you can guess why it isn't so aesthetically pleasing. Other good points to this phone is that it has a speaker phone function which is quite loud so you can make a phone call from one end of the room from the other - especially if you are well paranoid about radiation. ...
