Advantages: Size, price
Disadvantages: Battery seems iffy
The T18 is really a good phone for its price range. I've been using one since March, and apart from one problem (which was with the battery rather than the phone) all has been smooth sailing. The menu is quite simple and easy to use, the phone is big enough not to be easily lost, but small enough to qualify as really 'mobile', and the available memory on the sim card is a bonus. I have a chatboard, but that's because it came with the package, and having used it on and off I would advise people that it's not worth getting unless you expect to be using it a lot - you get used to the ericsson's keypad quite quickly, and for most messages finding and plugging in the chatboard takes as long as typing the message by hand. I haven't had cause to use the "voice dial" function, so I can't tell you how well it works, but I have programmed my own ring-tones, for which there are many examples available on the internet, and which you can quite easily make up yourself from the sheet music if you can read music, once you understand the Ericsson notation.
