Advantages: games, light, small
Disadvantages: texting
This is a phone with class. Not only does it look good but it performs well as well. So small is this phone that you can put it in a front trouser pocket without damaging your merchandise when you sit down. Yes, the ariel is bulky by comparison to some other makes, but the body of the phone is so small, you don't care. It's a flip phone and the action takes a little getting used to as it's a bit stiff at first. The voice activation option is good and when in play, the phone blips and asks for the name of the caller you want to contact. You program this yourself, saying the name of your friend in set up mode, which is then recorded digitally. It does work most of the time but then it is possible to embrass yourself when you are walking around continully talking to your phone. The phone is exceptionally light. It’s so light it almost feels hollow. This is mainly because they are using a very thin battery, which despite some criticism is still a vast improvement on the old Ericsson battery. The silent vibrate is more useful than I thought. I combine the ring with the vibration, so if it’s in my pocket and I’m out in the street, I can’t hear it ring, but I can feel it. Reception is reasonably good , although I don't always get a signal in the pub. Theres also a wealth of games, tetris (surprisingly good) and solitaire. The text feature is reliable, although at times scrolling through them takes a while - if anything the've tried to put too MANY features on such a small phone. There's also a really useful battery power indicator which tells you in hours and minutes, how much standby and talk time you have left (excellent.) The battery is remarkably longlasting (about 1 and a half to 2 days) for such a slimline phone and the indicators reliable. The annouying thing though is that if the phone is switched off and and if th
ey call there is no way of knowing that they did unless they left a text or a message. There is of course a clock, and an alarm, not to mention a stop watch. The problems with the phone are that it would be nice to be able to look at a list of calls received on its own at the touch of a button rather than either having to go through the menus or use the list combined with calls made as well. The phone also lacks a calendar, but most wont mind. It also slows down a little when the memory starts to fill up with hose addresses. It also seems strange and a little annoying that the light doesn't change when a call is received. This phone is defiantly worth the money and is for anyone that likes a good looking phone, that is light and has lots of features.
