Advantages: Great features

Disadvantages: NO ACCESS fault with T-Mobile network

This is a great phone, with many features, and a great battery life. Yes the automatic screensaver is a pain, but as you get so much standby time I can live with that. However.....

I purchased a t68i SIM free to use on the virgin (t-mobile) network. It worked well for a couple of months then I started getting calls cut off in maximum reception areas, this was followed by an inability to place calls; after a few seconds trying to place the call it beeped 3 times and showed no signal strength (even though this had shown a strong signal before sending). SMS wouldn't send. After a few more days it displayed NO ACCESS on the screen.

CPW (carphone warehouse) initially told me this was a SIM problem (although the SIM worked in other phones). Phone was sent off for a firmware upgrade (no other work required). Phone worked better than ever. New features added and reception seamed better than before. However within a month I was back to NO ACCESS. New handset from CPW, this time worked for only 10 days.

UPDATE: The replacement for the replacement lasted about 14 days, but yes it has gone wrong again (same problem NO ACCESS). I am waiting for a replacement of the replacement of the replacement of the original repaired phone. I am getting fed up as every two weeks I have to go back to Carphone Warehouse, reset all my settings, reprogramme all my voice commands, just to have the thing go wrong again. Its made more annoying by the fact that is such a great phone - when it works.

Carphone Warehouse Customer service tell me there is no known issue with this phone, although the sales reps tell a different story. CPW sales rep stated that he no longer advised customers to buy this handset for T-Mobile network (although that is NOT official CPW policy).

I understand this is a T-Mobile (and from various forums occurs on Orange as well)

Dont get me wrong this is a great phone, and if I was using O2 or Voda you couldn't beat
it.

However DONT buy this phone to use on T-Mobile (or Virgin), it isnt worth the hassle.
