I inherited this iphone from my partner when he upgraded. I had never had an iphone or an ipad product before. I had only one smartphone previously which was a very basic HTC model so I was concerned that I might find the phone operating system difficult to get to grips with. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I started using the phone how easy and intuitive it was to use. The touch screen operation is also very effective and not as difficult as I thought it would be. The screen size is the right sort of size for me, easy to use the touch screen and the phone is not too big for my hand. The range of apps available, even for free, is brilliant and I find the phone works quickly. The camera is much better than it was on any other phone I have had and I like having loads of photos on my device. I also like to use it for using catch up services like the iplayer. Being able to use imessage for messages to other iphone users it also brilliant as it means that it doesn't come out of my text message allowance. I like that you can get lots of different covers and accessories for the phone and so far have found it very durable - I've dropped it several times and its still going strong. My one bugbear with this phone is the constant updates to all the apps which seems to take a lot of time. However overall I am very happy with this phone.
I've had most iPhones which have been released, this one is still my favourite though, compared to the new ones it can look a little small and chunky, but I still think it was by far the best to hold. It just seems to fit comfortably and it was easy to text with just one hand. Whereas the new bigger iPhones can sometimes require both hands to reach both sides of the keyboard. I only had this phone for 1 year, however I gave it to a friend who is still using it today almost 5 years after it was bought!
The only thing which didn't last was the buttons, they get jammed very easily and can just stick, meaning it can become difficult to lock/unlock your phone without considerable effort. This is something which wasn't a problem for a long time however.
The main problem with phones like this is when you update them, then instantly get slower and the battery instantly gets worse. Considering Apple like to force updates on people this isn't something which will go down well with this phone. 5 Years ago this was the best phone around, today It's obviously going to struggle to keep up.
Despite the chunky look the phone is very light and as with all Apple products, it has that familiar and easy to use feel which makes it great even if you aren't experienced in this sort of thing. If you're offered one of these cheap in 2016, it's a great choice still! But don't pay much for one as the later models are miles ahead and updates will slow this right down.
I first bought this phone back in September 2011 and I still have it! I should probably mention I have had the handset replaced a couple of times (for free) in the Apple store, as the Home/Lock buttons break very easily. I believe they have fixed this issue on later models, but it's definitely something to watch out for on the iPhone 4.
Every time a new iOS is released, the phone gets slower and I lose storage. I have adapted to this, but it is frustrating that Apple seem to be trying to push you into buying a newer model.
I have only just experienced an issue with having an older iPhone model - I couldn't update one of my apps as it required iOS 8 or later, which I can't download on my phone. I am considering updating my phone now, but I'm in no rush. I'm very happy to have got almost 4 years of use out of the phone so far.
I might consider getting a Samsung as my next phone, even though I do like the iPhone. If Apple were less sneaky in the way they release new features, and didn't force you to update older phones with new software they can't really handle, then I would be happy to just get the iPhone 6.
i bought this from ebay last month.my friend told me to buy 4s insted of iphone 4 . the reason is if you upgrade iphone 4s to ios7 it dosnt hang .not even a little. but if you upgrade it to iphone 4 it will definatly hangs alot. becouse of processer used in this isvery fast . its very glossy and il like its primiam quality .when comes to screen size its screen size is small but anyone can done all the work like play hd games . reding ebooks . and i like to capture photos very much .so i needed a good camera .and thats waht i got .and taking pics with my friends .familiy without any problem.also its cheap and primiam quality attracts people. and the quality of earphones is that what i want to hear . with this phone the screen touch is relly nice .i prefer every one to buy this device.
I have owned an Apple iPhone 4S now for around a year, and I have found that it has many useful features. However, there are also some glitches/downfalls which I sill mention later on.
The iPhone 4S has a beautiful design, looks really sleek and sophisticated. The new ios7 updates means that the software also looks great and is easy to use. It has many built in features such as calendar, calculator, mail, notes, reminders and many more. There are also plenty of apps available to download from the App Store. The music facility is great and it is really easy to download more music, either from your computer or the iTunes Store.
As with most apple product, the phone sometimes glitches. The messages sometimes disses pear randomly for a while and the phone can sometimes also freeze. The screen can get scratched if not properly protected and will smash if dropped.
I would commend this phone, but it does come with high maintainable and quite a high probability of something going wrong.
First time user of an Apple I-phone , and not being a techie it took a while to get the hang of it - and it was like opening Pandora's box as to the sheer scope and range of features . I only wish I had purchased an "Apple" long ago . Once I had got the feel of it and realised that it was a word processor, radio, camera , map, gps and a telephone with new features being discovered every time I used it I was more than delighted . The battery life is reasonable, it is slim in width and slips easily into a coat or trouser pocket
All in all it is a pocket rocket and has many advantages and features over that of more conventional smart phones, and I am more that delighted that my first I-phone has more than proved excellent value for money
I love this Iphone 4, it's exactly the type of phone that I like. The size of it's screen is just the size that I need. I am not a fan of phones with bigger screen as I am not into gaming. I am after the ease of use of the phone, it's right size, and of course it's speed. Iphone 4 has it all that's why I couldn't find any other brand of phone that is as excellent as this. One thing that I am not so happy about is it's weight as I prefer a lighter one, easy to carry but I don't think this can be an issue. Afterall, if it is heavier it also signifies good quality so I think it is still acceptable to me and it won't affect my ratings to this Iphone 4. For me, this is the best phone that fits my need.
The iPhone in my opinion is the best phone out there. Although I don't think 8gb is enough for everything that you will want to put on there. I've put a lot of music on my phone and now I'm struggling for space. I've had an iPhone for years and I'm still learning little things about it all the time. The only issue I have with the iPhone is that it doesn't hold enough charge. I have to charge it every night, sometimes again during the day. Apart from that though it is pretty faultless. Quick and easy to use. The speakers on it seem to of got louder aswell which is good for playing music. The iMessage ISO a great feature, it's an quick and free way of sending messages and photos to other iPhone users, as long as you both have 3G or connected to wifi. I would recommend the iPhone to anyone as it's so easy to use
Positives- amazing quality camera 8mp- the camera on this phone is amazing for a phone the quality of the pictures even came out better than my 16mp camera.
Display- stunning and such a sleek design I love how thin it is as it's so light
Music and videos- I love how it can store 8gb of memory as It is multi purpose since I don't have to bring my iPod touch with me everywhere I can store loads of music and videos of my choice
Battery- battery life is average although the charger can just be used as a USB to plug into the computer and charge, it doesn't last for very long. I do listen to music and use the Internet a lot so I can understand why it doesn't last as long as it says for this reason and I think if i just used the iPhone 4S for mainly texts and phone calls or just on standby it'd last a lot longer
Cost- the cost is quite a lot for what you get with the phone but I think you are paying for the apple brand and how well known it is.
Iphone 4 is a great smartphone to have. Although Iphone 5 is better and newer, Iphone 4 is cheaper, and in some aspects comparable to Iphone 5. I, for a fact, have Iphone 4 and I'm very satisfied with it, and wouldn't change it for any other phone, only maybe Iphone 5. I have to say that Apple really makes best and most efficient phones on the market. Camera is really extraordinary, I really don't have to have any photo camera with me, only my Iphone 4. Speed of the phone is remarkable, games work perfectly, internet can't be faster. App store is updated very often and games are really fun to play on this phone. Great thing about this phone is that it's light and really easy to use.
I'm fascinated with my phone and very satisfied.
Only downside of the phone is that it's not for clumsy people, screen can easily brake if the phone falls to much.
Ok so where do I start with reviewing this phone? First of all let me just say I am a big fan of this phone - having owned it for nearly two years now I'm considering not upgrading as I feel there's nothing better on the market at the moment.
The size of the phone is 11cm by 6cm - it's got a decent sized screen yet it's small enough to fit in your pocket or your bag. Speaking of other physical attributes of the phone the battery life is only average - it normally lasts just a day with me but it charges fairly quickly.
The basics of the phone such as texting, phoning and accessing the internet are very easy and with all the free wifi available in city centres these days you don't really need to purchase internet at all in my opinion.
The iPhone 4S has a really interesting feature called Siri - you hold down the big round button on your phone and up Siri pops! You ask questions out loud to Siri, and Siri responds. You can ask a serious question such as "where can I get a Chinese takeaway from?" And Siri will search the internet and given you an answer, or you could say to Siri "mirror mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all?" And Siri will tell you it's you! As with most voice recognition it doesn't work well with strong accents but in general it's a neat little gimmick.
This phone in General is very good, it's just so user friendly and if you ever do struggle with it, there's so many users of it out there that there's plenty if help out there for you should you become stuck.
I somewhat reluctantly upgraded my old but well loved Blackberry last year for an iPhone 4S. When I first received the phone, I had literally no idea how to use it, and as an Apple virgin (apart from my old school iPod) the icons made no sense. However as time has gone by, it has struck me that this is a phone made for even the biggest technophobe. Even my old man now has one. The choice of apps to personalise the phone is expansive, iMessage is a revelation (albeit pretty much the same as BBM); the only problem is that I want an upgrade! Unfortunately, that is what Apple does, it takes away your choice. Once you go Iphone, you never go back. Also, the constant "software upgrades" that you don't really have a choice to not take make it difficult to keep track of what your phone is capable of. I'm sure even now, a year later, I still do not understand what my phone can fully do. Part of me thinks that is exciting, part of me doesn't see the point.
I recently bought this iPhone a few months ago because I was in need of a high quality, well working mobile phone. The design of this phone is appealing due to it's modern look and the speed of the phone is still great. I found the phone easy to set up and use right away and it was at an affordable price. When the phone is hooked up to Wi-fi... it is brilliant! You can call people from applications like skype and oovoo or you could use the iPhones built in FaceTime application which allows you to video and voice call for free to other apple product users! I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for a cheap, well working phone that can be used for communication, entertainment and web-browsing.
Note: I would advise for users to invest in a protective case to prevent the front and back panel from smashing!
I bought the iPhone 4S after my contract ran out on my iPhone 4 and was very disappointed with how little difference there was between the two models. As far as I could see, the only difference was the fast that the newer 4S had Siri on it, and operated slightly faster.
Having said this, the iPhone 4S is still a really great phone for all those people who need to stay connected while on the move. You can access your emails, any webpage and social media sites all from the click of a button - great for staying in the loop. FaceTime which uses WiFi is great for keeping in contact with friends and relatives. It is literally like a mini computer, with the added benefit of not necessarily needing wifi to be able to use the phone to surf the web (providing you have sufficient mobile network connection)
With a very clear display and stylish outer, the iPhone 4S is suitable for absolutely anybody, and the 8GB capacity offers plenty of space for your photos, videos and music.
Nothing compares to this phone! It is simply the most amazing phone i have ever had. It is practical for any lifestyle and also personal/business. Prior to this phone i had a blackberry and i must admit Apple has simply astonished me. Just the design itself it simply amazing to look at it. The iPhone 4 is literally perfect for everything( apps, games, video phone calls).
Let me start off with the apps, the rate at which it downloads is considerably fast and delivers apps to you in a great condition with excellent features.
The camera on the iPhone is in a league of its own, nothing i have seen before has had such detailed resolution and a variety of features to enhance your pictures.
The rate at which it delivers messages and connects video calls is greatly helpful as for other phones it is a pain to connect with someone on video call. With apps such as Skype and Face time your experience will be made even better.
I would definitely recommend this phone to really everyone as I personally feel it can adjust to whoever its owner is.. sounds weird but i honestly believe it is true.
Internet at times can be slightly slow
