Advantages: Nice flip action, battery seems pretty reliable.

Disadvantages: Camera is poor, loading applications is slow.

I recently acquired this phone second hand to replace my trusty Nokia, which was lost. I do feel that this phone is not as good as the Nokia that I had, but so far it has been pretty good on the whole.

The call quality of the phone is fine, and the volume can be set loud if you like, which is great. I haven't had problems getting reception in the city, and the signal never drops out when I'm talking.

Sending an sms is easy, as with all phones these days, although I must say that the predictive text on this phone isn't great and there seems to be lots of common words that it doesn't know. I also haven't found a way to be able to add new words to the predictive text dictionary, which is really annoying as it means I have to type them in separately every time. However, you can have more than on language on the phone at one time, meaning that you can easily shift the predictive between two languages if you need to, which could be useful for some.

The camera on the phone is pretty poor to be honest, as was common with phones that came out around this time. It works well enough to allow you to take a few funny photos or to personalise your wallpaper on the phone, but that's about it. I would hate to see one of the images actually printed and I unless you're in settings with perfect light and taking pictures of something close up you're going to end up with a very blurry image.

The phone has the standard features - alarm, scheduler with reminder alarm, a few ringtone options, address book etc. All of these seem to work fine, as you would expect, but are certainly nothing super impressive. The address book does take quite a while to load too as you're scrolling through it, and the same goes for opening your messages if there are more than a few in there. This phone definitely isn't super powerful.

As for the form of the phone itself, I really like the flip design and it feels very sturdy when I'm using it, but is still super easy to open with one hand. It flips open quite easily when separated just a bit with the thumb - I find the action strangely satisfying actually!

The battery works fine, I find I have to recharge it every couple of days depending on usage. Keep in mind that the phone is a few years old too, so it's doing pretty well on that front I think. Loading the battery is also very fast - much faster than my old Nokia, and is finished within a couple of hours.

All in all a phone that's adequate for my purposes but not one that I would whole-heartedly recommend, and I'm sure you can find something better out there. Still, if you're in the market for something second hand to use on a pre-paid basis, this phone is a solid choice.

Summary: There's probably something better out there.
