Advantages: Custom User Interface, Long Battery Life
Disadvantages: None
I have had the LG KP500 (Cookie) for almost a year now and it's had it's ups and downs. The phone itself is fantastic value for money when you consider its specifications, which exceed some of the much more expensive phones such as the Samsung Tocco.
One of the nicest features of this phone is the customisable user-interface, which allows you to choose which items to have on your homescreen and the background picture. Also, with a quick sidewards swipe, the user-interface changes to another one, used solely for speed dial, which is also customisable. Here you can place your most common people to call, and their pictures, on the screen to call with one touch.
The Cookie comes with a stylus which is neatly tucked away in the bottom-right corner of the phone, unlike with the LG Viewty where the stylus must hang as an attachment. Whereas with the Samsung Tocco, the fingers must be used as the touchscreen is heat sensitive only, the LG Cookie's touchscreen is pressure sensitive and thus either the stylus or fingers can be used to operate the phone.
The phone has more than enough memory to store all your contacts and text messages (with the occasional emptying of your inbox of course) and does not run slow when the memory starts to reach its capacity. When using the phone, all calls are clear and its maximum ringing volume is more than sufficient. Unlike with a lot of touchscreen phones, texting is easily done and the phone is very responsive. Admittedly, texting on a touchscreen phone does take some getting used to but the predictive text on this phone is very vast and so that does help with the transition.
I do have problems with the phone switching off and wiping all of my custom settings and text messages, but I think that may just be my unit. The battery life on the phone is excellent, with mine doing in excess of four days of normal usage.
All-in-all, this phone is a complete bargain as its performance is fantastic and it should cost a maximum of £100. Please shop around when buying this phone as there are some great deals to be had.
