LG 500 COOKIE MOBILE PHONE

I bought the above-mentioned phone on a website called e2save which is linked to Car phone warehouse. I paid £59.95 plus £10 compulsory top up on your chosen sim card. This phone is unlocked so my advice is to purchase whichever network offering the best price.

The phone is slim and light and very easy to use I have listed all the technical details at the end of my review. The screen is a modern touch screen, which takes some getting used to. I bought one for my husband, which I am, now selling, as he just can't get on with a touch screen. I can understand why as he has chubby fingers and it is easy to press the wrong numbers. The few texts I received from him read something like:

" I Babe h500 wet is y6o8 da@ etc etc.....

He did give up after the first day and I have now ordered him a 'bog standard' one.

Now my opinion of the phone is great. I love it. It is easy to use, especially if you are computer literate or used to an iphone. It took me a couple of days to get used to all the various functions.

You can easily download music and although the phone has little memory (approx 6 songs) I bought a 2gig memory card and now I can have up to 500 songs. The cost of the card cost about £4. You must format the card before use and make sure once this is done to turn the phone off and then back on to validate the card. There is a radio also but you will need to buy an adapter to listen and this also doubles up as an aerial to pick up the stations.

Texting is easy and they have the t9 predictive text for those of us that like a little help with spelling. Making and receiving calls are simple to do and the phone has a two-screen display, one of which contains speed dials, which are handy.

The contacts section can be tricky as you have to scroll through the numbers and it's not that easy but I am sure it is a technique that once you have it will be okay, so I put all important numbers on the speed dial handily displayed on the front screen. You can also text from the speed dials programme.

There is a pen stick you can use if you have larger fingers but I think this would be awkward and not always convenient. The pen is useful on the 'draw' programme for those more personal texts. You can draw your loved one a heart and send it to them easily. The alarms are great as you can chose which day of the week you want and there are three separate alarms. You can have the tune of your choice from your downloaded music.

The camera is not fantastic but I guess this is why the phone is affordable. I would not bother to much with under a 5-megapixel camera for any decent quality. This is 3 so not brilliant, or that may be just the 'shakes'.

There are all the usual calendar functions and memo tabs, so all in all this phone is a handy piece of kit if you can't afford the iphone. You can buy online just google it! They do vary in price from £59 to £113 I have seen. They do this phone in a black and pink. I have also seen a white one. The quality of the product is good and the only downside is it's sensitive on the phone contact scroll function.

A lovely clock on the screen display.

The phone is personal to your touch and will ask you to calibrate this when you first use your phone. Thanks for reading and I hope some of my comments help if you are about to choose a new mobile phone.
