Advantages: Lots of gadgets and features
Disadvantages: A little fiddly
After having had my trusty Sony Ericsson Walkman phone for the past four years I decided it was time for me to purchase a new mobile phone. My Sony was such a brick and wanted a phone that I could pop in my pocket for the first time!
After trailing through numerous sites of mobiles and their reviews I settled for the LG Cookie KP500 in white - the limited edition Transformers model! The reviews that I had read for this phone were mixed with lots of users mentioning that their phones would simply freeze up on them or turn off of their own accord but I thought it was worth taking the risk as I was able to pick this up at such a great price.
Upon receiving the mobile I was pleased with the limited edition Transformers sleeve but later found out that I had to download all of the Transformers ringtones, backgrounds etc from the internet which I have not bothered to do!
Getting used to the touch screen was a little difficult as I was being really gentle with it at first but now I am used to it it's fine. Texting is great as you can turn the phone sideways and use the qwerty keyboard. I usually use my fingers but there is also a stylus located in the bottom right corner of the phone.
The camera is not the best out there granted but will produce some bright photos as long as you are in a well lit area. It really would have benefited by having a flash as images are really poor quality and grainy in the dark.
The built in hands free kit is amazing and so clear it sounds like you are using a landline.
The ringtones are not your usual and are mostly made up of songs which I would not choose. There are however two good normal ringing tones so tend to use those the most.
I use it a lot for an mp3 player which works really well and has saved me purchasing an i-pod too. It supports up to 16gig micro sd cards. This does drain the battery a lot and am having to charge it every two - three days.
The battery when low does not give you much warning before switching itself off which is irritating if you are not at home or have your charger with you. Needless to say I carry mine everywhere with me now in case or emergencies.
~ Overall ~
I am very pleased with the purchase of my phone - there are a few features that could do with tweaking but for the price I paid I am more than happy!
Summary: Great technology with a great price tag
