Advantages: simple to use, well designed, durable, light, good battery life

Disadvantages: attracts dirt, too simple,

The reason that I bought this phone, was as a replacement for my outdated original phone, and as an update to touch screen technology (something that my original phone did not have). The thing that attracted me to this, was the sheer simplicity of the phone, advanced technology (touch screen, bluetooth, wifi) that isn't overly complicated (large amount of downloadable apps, confusing menus etc ), and doesn't lose the original purpose of a phone, to make calls and send texts. To do this review justice, I will look at some of the pros and cons of this product in more detail.
First of all I will look at the positives of the phone. As previously highlighted, the phone is simple to use, as it has relatively few buttons, few menus to navigate, and it is easy to find the contacts list in case of emergency. I am a fan of smart technology and originally looked at the Iphone, but found it to be overcomplicated and for that reason i went for the Cookie. Another positive with the phone is the price, which was for me £90 on a pay-as-you-go tariff (at last check Amazon were retailing the phone for £75), which for a smart phone is very competitive, as mobiles can cost upwards of £400. Similarly, another element of the LG Cookie KP500 that I like is its durability and lightness (i shudder to think the amount of times that I have dropped it - but it has never broken on me). Indeed, something that scared me about some of the touch phones that were on the market is how fragile they looked, but although the LG Cookie is light, it is durable). In much the same manner it is relatively easy to input text on the LG Cookie, as it comes with its own stylus, meaning it is easy to write text messages quickly. In the same manner battery life is very good with this product (lasting upwards of 12 hours).
Conversely, the Cookie does have some drawbacks, which i will look at now. Firstly, the phone is very limited in content, it does have add-ons (in the form of memory cards) but so do most other phones. Indeed, as previously highlighted it doesn't contain many apps, (googlemaps, itunes etc) which most other smart phones on the market do, such as the Iphone and doesn't contain a function to download added data. Similarly, as a phone it does attract dirt very easily, which would make it less suitable for something like a handbag or as a pocket phone and goes against the need of a mobile phone as an every day item.
In all, this is a good phone for somebody on a budget that doesn't mind the lack of options that come with the phone. Although the phone is quite competitive when looked at against other models on the market it is very limited. Having said that as a phone the LG Cookie is very practical, as it is light, durable and easy to use (all substance, no flash). Therefore, I would definately recommend this product to a friend.

Summary: all substance, no flash - good for somebody on a budget
