Basic but good.
Member Name: nodbod1
Advantages: Easy to use, great battery life.
Disadvantages: Limited features and noisy keypad tones!
I got this phone about a year ago and only bought it because it was a bargain - I can't remember exactly how much it was but I think it was free by the time I got extra clubcard points on it or something. I wasn't getting on with my first smartphone and so decided to sell it and just use the GS101.
This is a very basic mobile phone - it's not a smart phone - it doesn't have the facilities to browse the internet, take photos or check e mail or anything. It can ring and text people and has a few little extras like a calculator, calendar and simple games.
The best thing about the phone is the battery life - now I'm comparing it to my smartphone which lasts only about 12hours but the battery on the GS101 lasts seemingly forever - about a week to be more precise if you're not making many calls or texts.
One of the main downsides is that I haven't yet worked out how to turn off the keypad tones without turning off the sound altogether including the ringtone! This means that it beeps when you press any of the keys, for example when sending a text. I'm guessing that there must be a way to do it but I'm no technophobe and I can't work it out!
The menu is easy to use and the phone is reliable - I've never had any problems with it switching itself off or anything like that which other reviews for this phone have mentioned.
Overall, I would recommend it for someone who wants a very simple phone - parents and grandparents for example.
Summary: A good little basic phone!
