This phone is a pretty mediocre big brother to the LG KG800 (Chocolate)... it's generally reliable, well-built and stylish; not quite as stylish as the Chocolate, mind; but seems to have suffered from being one of the earlier touch-screen phones rushed into production after the success of the iPhone... it tries to hit the mark but fails on the crucial things.
The touch-screen is unintuitive and clunky. Unless you've got hobbit-sized fingers you'll find scrolling with the side-bar a nightmare. If you try iPhone style scrolling (along your list of texts for example) you're more likely to launch a high speed sprint to the bottom of the list which is really freaking annoying - you end up having to exit and go back into your inbox. This is one of the few instances where the silver scroll-wheel actually becomes useful!! If the phone had been supplied with a stylus I'm sure it would've made things a lot easier.
I was always dubious about touch-screen interfaces so I was pleased that the KF700 had an actual slide-down keypad - it was one of the main motivations for me to get the phone in the first place. After about 3 months of owning it I started to notice that some keys got kind of stiff/sticky which has gotten progressively worse over time. I have to really push some of the buttons to get them to work and even then I'm never guaranteed what would happen - sometimes it'd skip characters, othertimes it'd place multiples of the same character. Really frustrating when texting!
One of the cool things about this phone is that it's quite unusual - there aren't very many about, and I often get questions about what model it is. It's pretty well built, has aged really well (barely a scratch in sight), and despite having a terrible user-interface the phone is generally reliable... never had problems with the sound, connected well to the pc, and was ok for browsing the net. Just avoid if you're a big texter or are easily annoyed by crappy touch-screen interfaces!
I purchased this mobile phone around a year ago now and all the features are great!
The mobile itself has a very unique design; the touch screen abilities and it is a slide phone also allowing easier access to type messages. Using the touchscreen is very good as it is not too sensitive and is adequate enough to know when you are pressing something
The mobile has many features which are cool and nice addition to the phone. One of these is the camera. This is a 3.2 megapixel camera which produces very decent images. It is also able to zoom in and out and also has a bright light enabling you to take photos in the dark. This comes in very handy to get better quality photos.
The home screen is very easily accessable and allows you to navigate to many features whith only one touch to the screen. The screen itself is of a good size also which means you as able to touch easily and see your messages and photos clearly.
There is also a MP3 player allowing you to play music. You can put music in it through your pc or get songs through it's Bluetooth capabilities. The speakers of the phone are of good quality, and play music very nicely. The only problem is that I had to purchase my own memory card. However you can pick one up very cheaply.
Another down side to the phone is it's battery life, this is very short by only lasting about 7 hours. Many other phones last much longer than this. It does get very annoying as it can die on you while you are out and about.
Awesome phone. Takes some getting used to with all the features it has but once you use it for a week or two very few phones come close to this one. And yes even the iphone (which can't text pictures or videos). The best feature is the camera which is top of the line both with 3.2 mega pixel and all the features to include panaramic view and great camcorder capability. MP3 player is also above average and the games it offers work just fine with push to tuch. The battery holds up for 2 days with limited phone use and is pretty much shock resistant within reason. No problems with this phone at all using Verizon and the features can not be matched by anything out there to date. The radio is also a great selling feature with all other phones scrambling to catch up. Very few of these out there, we got it in Korea on holiday. Bit pricy but worth it.
