Advantages: Looks great, good features, good quality camera.

Disadvantages: Touchscreen features can take some getting used to, camera shutter sound doesn't turn off.

I received the LG Viewty as a Christmas present last year, after much consideration about which phone to have. My previous experience with an LG phone wasn't so good; I had an LG chocolate a couple of years before which froze a lot and eventually the screen wouldn't come on at all. However, after hearing some good reviews on the phone, I decided to give LG a second chance.

Visually, the phone looks great; it has a nice sleek design, and is slimmer than some touch screen phones that you can get. The screen itself is nice and big, which although does make the phone fairly big, it can still easily fit into your pocket.

The touchscreen works well with both fingers and the stylus, although I very rarely use the stylus as there isn't actually anywhere on the phone that you can attach it to, other than having it swinging from the side which doesn't really appeal and makes it awkward to use. However, as I say, using your fingers to control the phone works perfectly fine anyway.

Texting requires a bit of getting used to having never had a touch screen phone before, and at first it was rather frustrating and strange not to feel the different buttons and HAVE to look at what you are typing (I could text without looking at my phone with my previous non-screen phone) although I am now used to this. There is also a QWERTY keyboard option when texting, although you would need very small fingers to do this, unless you carry the stylus around with you!

One other slight problem with the phone is scrolling down when reading through texts, or looking through messages or contacts. You have to literally stroke the screen to scroll down, but you have to do this fairly firmly else it just won't budge, but not too vigorously else it will scroll too far. Basically you have to perfect this flicking movement for it to scroll to where you want to, which can get annoying.

The camera is good and takes good quality photos and videos, although one slight complaint is that you cannot turn the shutter sound off, which can get rather annoying if you want to take photos in a quiet place, such as a museum.

The battery life has never been a problem, I use it a lot and I charge it around every 2-3 days, and that's usually with the battery still with around a quarter of its life still in it.

Overall, I would recommend the phone, it takes a bit of getting used to, but I would say all touch screen phones would!

Summary: Overall good phone, would recommend.
